Yeah, that kinda confused me. To his credit though, LL Cool J isn't THAT bad of an actor/voice actor. I mean, he WAS picked up to be in NCIS: Los Angeles...... Fact is, the guy is 41, he needs something else other than rapping to make a living. Steve Zahn and Amy Smart are also narrating too.


Still looking forward to it though. I mean, Ron Livingston is one of the narrators. He played Nixon in Band of Brothers.

Gary Sinise is the narrator... can't wait to see this. WWII is something that, granted, has been covered a LOT but this just looks incredibly interesting.

Ive been so amped on this for so long, i pretty much exclusively watch the history channel, and ive seen soo many WWII shows. but this looks so dope, and the new footage looks really incredible. im curious to see how they're gonna present it all.

Yeah, and they have taken the black and white film and re done them to be in color. Kinda curious how they did it.

I think they just filled it in with the appropriate color for each spot. Unless there is some secret software that can judge color in black and white. That'd be sick.

there is this weird disconnect.

i wish i was part of the great generation, but not. maybe i just wish i had a better connection with our ww2 vets. i have many opportunities in my line of work but seeing the footage bring emotions out in me that i cant describe. it kinda applies across the board. how to do you go about understanding and empathizing with people who you dont share an experience with?

I know what you mean. I think we're all interested because we want to know what life is like when the world is at war. I wish I knew more videos or movies about friends or close people to Hitler just to see what kind of person he was. Yeah I know he was completely evil and all, but I bet there's more to it.

its funny you say that, but my father is friends with a neighbor who was in the hitler youth. his stories are fucking hilarious. he did it cause in his own words, the hitler youth organization provided better soccer equipment. how awesome is that? there is so much we dont understand about people we never lived around. and im not just talking about wwII.

Ok, this is a little off of what I initially made this thread about but I have always wondered what it was like for an actor that gets the call that is something like this:
"Hey, we are making a movie about WWII and want you to play Hitler. WHADDAYA SAY?!"
How would that feel?


Anyways, back on topic. I too am a little curious about how it would feel to be part of the Great Generation, the last generation that fought in a war that people could actually support.
