new dna game

im working on a new dna spin game. i dont want to give away too much but in my opinion, if everything goes as planned, it will be sick. main reason for this thread: ideas. i have plenty of ideas for this game already but who knows... maybe someone else has more better ideas. anyways, it needs to stay as the classic style, side scrolling so no 3-d rails (c or s rails). Also, im lacking a new for the game. i dont want to keep the version whatever theme going because thats cruz's game, not mine. so pretty much, any suggestions on levels, skis, skiers,name, or anythign else would be helpful and considered. Last thing, i dont know when it will be released but i promise as soon as i have it hosted on a site and all of the levels arte finished with out any bugs, it will be released. nobody sees it first besides some people who willl test it out. thanks for reading this rediculkously long post.

^ im with ski guy for the testing thing...as for ideas...you should watch ski vids and see what people have done thats unique...like a water tower hit or something like that

make sure they can grind like when u jump on the rail it will let u grind it. u no what i mean liike in dna spin ur not really grinding ur more like riding over the rail

i would if i knew how but i dont even think its possible in this game. that involves programming and im pretty sure i can mess with the programming, just the lvels and such. ill look into it though and see if its doable

alright so i opened up the folder and explored a bit. it looks like i might have found all of the coding. the only problem is i have no back ground on programmin at all. if enough people want to be able to actually grind and its worth ppusshing the date way back, i can attempt to learn but no promises. how many people think it would be worht it?

any suggestions? if i learn enough mayeb i can make a simplified 'carrer mode' making the game only allowing you to advance if you preform certain tricks and get certain scores? i dont know yet, just a thought.

as cool as it sounds i dont se the need to be re - made if your keep the side scrolling method and not adding 3-d rails. just make new levels i guess.

heres an idea.
* how bout you make a set up of a way to do not neccesilary multi player but a tournament format. you start off with heats of lets say 6 or 12 and they get narrowed down into finals and bracket them up. that would be sick so its like a real comp.

if it were 3d, it wouldnt be dna really anymore. eventually im going to make a sick skiing game btu that wont before a while seeing as i need to learn programming first. new tricks could be possible posibly but with programming. i wish i could do more with the game but i would have to rewrite a lot of the codeing

it doesn't really seem like you could add that many more levels, cus a lot of stuff has already been done. I think if a completely new game could be done, that would be really sweet and greatly appreciated. As for now, if you can think of some cool levels, that'd be nice, and correct trick names also.

ok, well, i looked thru all the code of the game about 2 years ago when it first came out..
What is possible:
-Making it possible to jump more than 3 times
-Making the level selection actually in in the program not gay websites.

Impossible (in my eyes)
-Actual 'rail slide' trick
-third dimention
-pretty much anything else that is cool, play fakie flair challenge, its better.

a frame houses, rollercoaster rails, whale tail rails, better quarterpipes, a cool cliff level, put a little platform at the tops of the levels so you can go switch easily, some type of breast gap.

yea that would be sweetass. You should try to make a level thats like a whole park with a bunch of kickers and a couple rails, cept that might not be possible.

well im learning java and im planning on making a game like dna but a whole lot longer. im thinking 1-2 minute runs. the main problem is that it would take a while to load. im thinking if you fall/unclip, it would drop you form the top and then youd keep going, lacking a little speed. after that im learning c++ and trying to make a simple 3d skiing game. then from there im just improving and making more games. three things i want are... decent graphics. good controls. and deffinatly..physics

If you can find the source code try and find where it only lets you make 3 jumps and change it to more.
