I disagree, but we can't argue that the WH tried too keep fox out of the press pool. If it weren't for the rest of the networks, it could have happened. I was proud they stuck up for Fox.

I don't think anyone wanted to touch it but fox, because it would put the admin in a bad light. I think the fact that so many blogs are commenting on it is enough evidence that it happened. But, Gibbs was interviewed over it, and it is a fact that the other networks said they wouldn't do interviews unless fox was allowed.

This is a good question because I feel the same way. For me, its because Oreilly may be kind of a nutcase with his culture war BS, but he is an intelligent guy, and an extremely talented debator. Oreilly also has to at least maintain the guise of unbiased reporting, so he can't just fly off the handle at "liberals" or "socialism" just because he is pissed off that day.

Beck and Hannity have a different kind of show. In terms of intellect, they are both complete idiots. Where Oreilly is a smart person making a dumb person's argument for entertainments sake, Beck and Hannity are just idiots making idiotic arguments because thats the best they could do.

I'd like to just point out that while fox's primetime lineup is all conservative, the majority of other news sources (msnbc, cnn, npr, huffington post) are unashamedly liberal. the government media complex that exists in this country is why people like the rainbow sheep think they're the ones with the correct opinion.

I don't think a blog called "bluegrass pundit" is anything anyone should be reading. A) because bluegrass implies southern, and B) becuase he's a goddamn pundit. Not a reporter or journalist. I don't trust it if that's the only source you can find.

will you please take the time to read some of the shit, there are quotes from many different members of the press pool supporting it. Nobody wanted to touch this story because no one wants to cast a bad light on the Obama admin. use your head, you of all people usually look at things before commenting. heres the difference i see between olbermann and hannity. i feel like olbermann would at least stand up to what he said on air in real life, whereas i feel hannity would be a total pussy.

haha i dont believe that shit at all. Why else would the other networks refuse to do the interview if fox hadn't been told to fuck off? This bullshit after the fact is the admin trying to save face by calling it a mistake. If the other networks didn't own the admin on this issue, they wouldn't have retracted anything. There is a clip on youtube with a Charles Krauthammer, a guy from npr, and another liberal all talking about how fucking stupid and petty the whitehouse was with this bullshit. open your eyes. it happened.

I'm not trying to preach. And yes, I know what conservatives preach (as well as liberal) and I can smell propaganda from a mile away. And radical fundamentalism smells like shit either way. But the field of perspective is wide open, that's what is great about this country- freedom of press and the ability to dissent/criticize. But the point of all this was, just because I don't agree with something doesn't mean I ignore it all together...you should know that.

People are just starting to confuse NEWS with punditry/entertainment, and the line gets blurrier everyday. I think that is the main reason Obama got into this tussle with Fox in the first place. For the main cable "news" networks the amount of actual reporting coverage versus opinion shows in prime time is very small, and unfortunately a lot of people out there start to think of that as actual news. And then comes the ideology battles: Fox vs. NBC, talk radio vs. NPR. I like my current events, and usually when I want straight fact and reporting I hit up BBC when I can.

Not when that criticism is based on biased disinformation that ACTUALLY HURTS PEOPLE. That's what some people don't get. These freedoms are here, and that's fine, but basing your opinions on religious fanaticism and punditry and using them for intolerance and to rob people of their rights is a gross abuse of those freedoms. I hate to bring them into this, but the framers meant for people to enjoy those freedoms and for everyone to be equal. Using freedoms to take away the freedoms of others is like skull-fucking the framers of the Constitution.

There, I said it. The majority of Conservatives are metaphorically skull-fucking the Framers of the Constitution.
