Ticket for longboarding

some cop kicked me and my friends out of this neighborhood 5ish times for bombing this perfect hill. now he said if he sees us again, he will give us a $100 ticket, plus take our boards away?

what the fuck? is he even allowed to do this? discuss

Yes he could.
In most cities it's illegal to skateboard on a public street or private property.
They don't really enforce it on the streets but, since you were bombing a hill they see it as a safety issue, this is why he told you that.
Don't worry about it though it's like skating at a street spot they always say don't come back or were going to take your boards away but they never do.

one of my buddies is on level A (highest) probation for longboarding at lynchburg college
me and TheFootClan got pulled over for skitching behind my car on a waterski rope and ended up with a ticket for reckless driving, carrying a passenger outside the car, and driving without a license and 2 points on his license

oh yeah i'm not worried at all about going out and skating, it's just this hill is so perfect.. well actually its like a whole neighborhood of perfect hills, and if were seen there with our boards its $100.. gah ffs.

I've longboarded past many cops and never really had an issue. We have lots of gangs on the other side of town though. I live in the wealthy area and I see a cop once or twice a week max, and half those times are when school gets out.

the city next to my town where i usually skate has an ordinance where you have to follow bike laws. it's not hard at all but i've seen many people get ticketed and freak out, and i'm just like wow your a retard, stop at stop signs and dont interfere with traffic flow & you wont end up owing 100 bones.

you do here. you have to obey regular traffic laws. not that it's like an issue unless theres an accident caused by your disregard for the law. i run that shit all the time on board and on bike but not if it's gonna make someone crash or if theres a cop around.

same, excpet all the cops are cool about doing whatever the fuck we want. always pull gts and stuff behind cars in winter, and one time one cop just shook his head, got in his cop car and drove off. I guess part of it has to do that my dad grew up with lots of the cops and they know us Harasyns have a crazy side. Its all the doctors and lawers that are the bitches, and teachers, they all think they are hot shit, hate on my family cause my dad works in trades. who the fuck cares, my dad owns his house (and cabin), not the bank. i could rant about this but im not going to. In my city the cops dont care about longboarding at all, they have better things to do.

haha these tickets are such bull. ive been close. i was with my buddy and he was going probably 30 coming to a four way stop and was gonna run it then when he was like 30 feet away he saw a cop stopped perpendicular to him, and he didnt have gloves, so he footbraked the hardest ive ever seen anyone do and somehow stopped in time.

the thing is, if anything happens you can alway just give them fake info since you dont have to have ID of any sort to be longboarding. anyone have experience with that?

im pretty certain a cop can give you a ticket for not carrying a government id if you are of age to need one(16).  and giving a cop fake info is thedumbest thing you can do, impersonation or someone else, evading cops or some shit cause you lied to them. basically lying to a cop about who you are is a pretty dumb idea.

I live in the same kind of neighborhood only a detroit red wings player (hockey) is my neighbor, and the ford family live a block over (yes the owner of the car company) so i know what you have to deal with

People get harangued by the cops now and then for longboarding round here, for things like blocking traffic, speeding and having "no way to stop". Some people are just reactionary.

We got shit for skating on a local "highway." I guess any town/ county maintained road can be considered as a highway so they can call you out for trespassing.

not true in my town I get tickets they cross out parking and wright skateboarding also when they take it away you go to the po po staition you need to be with your mom or dad to go get it back shit sucks
