Buttering? strong enough??

gonna start and learn to butter, i have atomic deviants with ross sas2 120 bindings, i think my DIN setting is 6, and im 130 lbs, 5'5..
and also how difficult is it to butter? especially nose buttering

Please don't make DIN suggestions for other people. Only the person knows what DIN they should be at. So save the trouble (and the victim's knees) and shut up.

not cool man, hope you learned from that.

although people not to go to a shop because they have a liability policy for setting up bindings, its better if they come off easily than you cranking them up yourself and ruining your legs and then not being able to ride or even walk for a long period of time, be sensible with it

lol, this is how I usually initially set my dins. 

Those din charts can give you a good, general idea of what to set them at as well.  This is also a good starting point. 

I'm 5'10, 140lbs, and have a 305mm boot sole length.  I set my dins at 5.5, even though the charts say 6.5.

By insurance regulations they cant set your din higher then what you rate on the charts. The charts only go up to 11, and thats for someone who is a type 3 and 245lbs. It's stupid, I know, but if they did then you could sue if you got hurt. If you want a higher setting you need to do it yourself.

If they don't do that they will at least refuse to turn them up.  They have to go by what their machine says so if you need them up you have to put them up.

ahh so fun, i was doing nose-blocks on my invaders today, so buttery! but yeah lean mad foward until you think youre gonna fall on your face, then bring your knees up and in and tail grab that mo'fucka.

Uh I'm 5'4'' ish and like 116 lbs and i'm riding a din 6 with a 300mm bsl. I'm also on salomon z10s which aren't exactly heavy duty bindings, but I've never had a problem with pre-release or not releasing at all. I'd say my skis fall off when they should and stay on when they need to.  I can't wait to ski though, butters are at the top of my list to learn. They look so fun.

but remember it all depends on the bindings. i ride a pair of punx with rossignol px 14s with a toe din of 7 and heel din of 6 but i also have another pair of punx with sth 16s that i ride and 12 din on the toe and 11.5 din on the heel and it does the same thing and my rossi bindings. never had any knee injuries caused my by ski not letting go and they always release when i want them too. so 6 could either me a lot or nowhere close to enough. im 5'6" and 170lbs btw also.

Your skis flex makes a difference as well.  I have a pair of Line Invaders set at 5.5 and a pair of Fischer Addicts set at 6.5.  The bindings are identical, but the Invaders are super soft compared to the Addicts. 

I used to have a pair of GS skis that I had to set to 7 so that they wouldn't release when I leaned way forward.  I had them set to 6 originally and ended up loosing both skis before I even reached the first gate.

shit man.. in rentals we would set you at about a 4. and if your an aggressive skier maybe a 6. I wasn't aware that so many bindings were off from each others dins.. thats fucked up, I really hope its just because of the skis people ride and not the different companys bindings.  My skis are set to a 7 right now, my other bindings that are waiting for skis right now are at an 8.. I want to lower them.
