What are some good bootfitters in the area?(max 1.5hour drive)

I'm looking for new boots, if i can get them soon, i wont have to wait to get my skis mounted.

Is there any places that carry full tilts? I doubt they'll fit(unless they have the wides one) but i wouldnt mind trying them anyways.

Is there any boots that you guys have with a 100 last that is reasonable for park? i'd like to have some idea of what to look for.

Go to the sign and ask for Paul Polacsek(bigger guy with the beard)

He knows more about boots than anyone I've ever worked with.

Skiis and Biikes at don mills and eglinton is another place with great boot fitters.
guys you can can ask for would be Ben, Tim, Chris or Matt.

shops are notorious for being giant dbags in terms of charging you for stuff.

i have my old boots which i need adjusted. if I bring them in to one of these bootfitters, you think they'll charge me?

dont know if you would want to drive this far but collingwood sportinglife near blue mountain

they carry full tilts and have like race pros there

they are all great for sizing

If you bought them from the same store, I doubt it (we dont charge for that), but if you bought them somewhere else, then yeah they will likely charge you. What else would you expect?

Paul Polacek is my boy. and the most experienced boot fitter I've heard of in this area. And not only boots, he's got all equipment on lock. He also just got an article in SkiCan or some shit.

The Sign of the Skier is where it's at. A small local shop, mostly dedicated to skiing, they've got FT's and a massive selection of other boots if you want something more well rounded. It's been my home shop for years and I've never been disappointed.

I got my hands on some old flexons, is there anywhere to get intuition liners from?
I found a snowboard place that sells the powerwrap, so i might have to buy them there and mold myself.

you can buy the liners online from Intuition and mold them yourself at home.

im not saying they shouldnt charge for stuff that actually requires some work. but if I come in and ask you to cut my footbeds to fit my boot (which takes like 1 minute) and you tell me to pay you $40, then you can fuck right off.

oh wait...

are you one of those people that buys shit online? if you are, then you deserve to pay.

it's not fucking rocket science, buy from your local shop and they will take care of you. buy online or somewhere else and be prepared to pay

i did get the shop i bought the footbeds from to do it. i've never had experiences like this, but people I know have. hence, my original question

and why should someone deserve to pay if they buy shit online. not everybody can afford shit at the prices that their local shops have. if they just happened to be smart enough to buy online, thats better for them, no? you're still supporting a business. if your shop can't compete in terms of prices, that's their loss. come on man, its business 101

so in 10 years when you need, let's say, a set of bindings mounted, where are you going to go? oh wait, your local shop went out of business years ago because everyone decided to buy online.

i'll admit it, you are supporting a business by buying online. but remember, unless you're buying from a CANADIAN site you are not supporting CANADIAN business. you kids just don't get it. you're all about supporting the so-called CORE brands but you'll sell out your local shop just like that.

want to know a thing about business? one word: RELATIONSHIPS!

Bootfitters at skiis and bikes know their shit. The skiis and biikes guys in whistler fitted most of the armada team, including tanner hall- so you know theyre good!

I just had the most unreal bootfitting experience. I have been working at McCoos in whistler since I moved out here and had a new pair of boots fit by George McConkey. He has been fitting for 30 years with a decade under the national alpine team, steve podborskis personal fitter through his reign and obviously shane mcC amoung many other pros. The knowledge he dropped was unreal and he is considered one of the best bootfitters out there. People call daily to book appointments with him from switz, italy, sweden, all over the place. The price tag is hefty if you want boots too (over $1000) but luckily I work at the shop... on that note I have so NEW dalbello krypton pros for sale cause they weren't the boot for me...

Very true. I buy everything from my local shop and they know me really well there. Going to your shop can really help in the long run. I just bought some boots last night and they gave me $100 off.

So true.  And if you want to get stuff for free, its all about RELATIONSHIPS too.  If you're good friends with your local shop, then you can expect to get lots of perks.  Its even better if you work there.  I still get all kinds of free service from the guys at Kunstadt sports in Ottawa, free fittings, use of their tools and templates to mount skis, and If I go in and wax five pairs of skis I can do my own as well.  In terms of free service, its all about who you know.

Make some friends!  Us shop guys are people too.
