i know i am speaking for alot of people here but first we need to know what type of riding you do afterbangs are strictly park skis and chronics are all mountain...what are you looking for(percentage of park vs all mtn)
you can trust this guy hes actually sked these even though theres no snow yet where hes from.
get chronics because only a bo$$ rides them and every year they are better looking than all. and theyre not going to suck and theyr not going to be worse than afterbangs
im thinking chronics too.are they a good rail/jib ski?
I would say it's more a jump than rail ski. But they aren't bad on rails at all!
They are pretty stiff, so it is a bit hard to do butters and stuff.
some say their chronics get destroyed on rails but those are the older ones.
go with the chronics
(and try not to over bump a thread that should have been searchbared in the first place)
i tried the searchbar and i got nothing...
also read reviews but i thought i should just ask all the guys on NS anyway.
im looking for park and jibbing skis for fun on groomers and in park.
i think chronics because they are lighter and i hear alot of good thing about them :)
This is a tough decision dude, really should break it down though. With the chronics yoru really looking at a tried and proven all mountain ski, i loved mine to death and after getting 08 invaders,I seriously( even still) wish i would have gone with chronics instead( i also ski about 80% park and 20% all-mountain) The chronics are alsobeefy from my experience ,although some did say they had issue's with the sidewalls( i cant really vouch for this, ive had no troubles) As for the after bangs your looking at totally new technology that has not really been around enough to give it the thumbs up or thumbs down yet( although it has been 4 years in the making so this does tell you something about its credibility) Also it is 20% allmountain and 80% park ski, which is exactly what your looking for, but your realyl still getting more of a rail ski. There have been some outstanding reviews on the afterbang but ive also heard people who werent too happy with them because of chipping and what not.
Alternatively, you could look at anthems. There wide underfoot makes up for the softness of the ski and gives you a still very fun ski on rails (just like invaders/ afterbangs) but it really holds its own on jumps and everywhere else on the mountain. i might not recomend it if you live on the east because the wideness of the ski mixed with icy conditions isnt always such a good combo but i stil know people out here who shred on them.
You cant really go wrong to be honest, both of those skis( or all three if you consider the anthem) are good for what your looking for, either way youll have a good time on the ski's and your going with line which means great customer service.
Hope this helped.
What did you end up choosing
afterBANGs
