CALLING ALL SERIOUS NERDS(ft. xbox, computers, wireless internet)

so my friend recently showed me how to get x box live with wireless internet, you can use your macbook pro as an airport for your x box. you only need an ethernet cord to go from your lap top to your box and your golden. it worked really well for a long time, and then our internet sucked, so we got a new router, now my laptop can get internet, but it wont send the signal to my x box anymore. the new router must have a new ip address or some shit that is throwing it off. does anyone know how/where to find the new info. if it helps my new router is an encore one..

+K for help as COD mw 2 comes out in 2 days and i really want to solve this problem

no i dont, i was using my mac book pro as one, you can turn your mac books into them, but with this new router it wont send it to my x box anymore

quick note...I still have my old router, can i personally set that up to my computer? because that one does work for x box live

yea, you do. your laptop is now essentially useless. your xbox will get wirless from the new router with a wireless adapter that you hook on the xbox. or you can figure something out with the old router. i don't know that much about this shit but my suggestion seems like a solution to me.

did you check the xbox ip address? How far does the xbox get in the connection test? it might be port forwarding ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874 )

i did this before i got a legit connection. It works, but, at least for me, it didnt work that well. i couldnt play halo 3 and i could sometimes play halo 2 games. google some shit, it involves turning sharing mode on, and then connecting your laptop to your xbox and then removing a certian blocker from your airport

I own one and I use it. Never had ANY problems. Barely ANY lag, if at all. I really don't know what you are talking about.
