So I got a pair of fulltilts last year and I definitely thought they were better than my old boots but during the season I would more often than not, get foot cramps. Now my roomate has a pair and they are the same size but he has smaller feet. I have size 11 (vans) shoes and my FT's are size 28.5. Do you guys think I got the wrong size?

Oh and I didn't get them molded, do you think that would help?

Any feedback or suggestions would help a ton

I'm not a boot fitter or anything so don't take my word for it but you sizing sounds about right. I have a size 10 to 10.5 foot and I have a full tilts a size 26.5. And I have read countless threads about problems with full tilts with ppl who haven't heat molded them yet and people always say that heat molding should fix the problem, whatever the problem is.

go to a bootfitter man, he/she will solve all your problems, he/she will identify the problem - whether you need them moulded is up to the bootfitter not anyone on ns

Get them heat molded - it will changed EVERYTHING, they will be way more comfortable and your foot should stop cramping.

that liner is ment to get molded. It starts off as a supper generic fit, then you bake it and (if the shop know what they are doing) put your foot in, then put your foot+liner in the shell, get it settled and cinch that fucker down.


Then the liner is molded not only to your foot, but also to the shell.

Yeahh! thanks guys, I will definitely take them to a shop. I didn't get them molded because the guy told me that I could just ski them and they would work out...sonofabitch!

best thing to do is do a quick shell check.....

take your socks off, put your foot in the shell without the liner and slide your foot to the front so your toes are just touching the front of the boot.

Measure the distance behind your heel. There should only be around 0.5 an inch of space back there. If theres more than an inch Id say they are too big.

I wear between a 10.5 (nike SB) and 11 (vans) in a skate shoe and ski in a 26 or 26.5 (essentially the same size) and that goes for most brands of boots (dalbello, Salomon, Tecnica etc..)

I tried a 27.5 (not molded) and it seemed slightly too big..

I am going to get a 26 (26.5) in Full tilts this year as my Dalbellos are worn out.

Personally I think you should go down a size but do a 'shell check' to see how much room there is in there.....

i guess im just really weird cause i have a 9.5 size foots... and i have been riding 28.5 all last season. Fit me fine. I had 27.5 but they were uncomfortable cause my toe was smashing the front

yeah that sounds right. I wear a size 10.5 Nike SB and i just bought a size 26.5 Full Tilt. I bought used Salomon SPK's last year that were a size 27.5 and they were too big.

Im an 11 shoe, but wearing a 27.5 full tilt. 

Your toe is supposed to touch.  Thats just how a ski boot fits.

well i got fitted for a 27.5 boot and i wear size 10 nike 6.0 skateboard shoes. they guy said not to get them heated cause it kills the liner, but im going this weekend to get them fitted

hahahaha you didn't get them molded? of course they hurt

also those sound a bit big, i wear an 11 shoe and i'm in a 27.5 krypton. with 3 piece boots people tend to downsize a lot

same here. i wear a size 10 shoes (give or take a 1/2 size) and i've got size 28.5 Lange boots.

they feel great and i've never had problems with them.

Thank you... I used to have a problem with mine and getting shin bang but that's cause they were too loose... Tightened em up and since then they've been perfect

9.5 should be in way less than a 27.5, what the hell are you thinking? your toes shouldnt even be close to the front in a 27.5

The very purpose of Intuition Liners (whats in FTs) is to get them heat molded. They are actually quite soft w/o heat molding, but right after they are heated and you put them on, it is quite painful initially because they are forming tightly to your foot. Intuition liners are the best liners on the planet no ifs, ands, or buts.

the whole "natural flex" deal only works if the boots fit properly

if your shin can't engage the tongue, you won't be able to flex the boot. in a 28.5 krypton, i had trouble flexing the boot all together with the stiff tongue and no mods. however, in a 27.5 i can get the perfect flex out of it at like a 140 and it's because these ones fit me correctly

my toes aren't jammed against the end, but i can definitely feel it, and i love it, so much more control

additionally (and im not totally sure if someone already mentioned this cause im hungover) but youre probably wearing boots that are too big.

i wear size 12-13 shoes depending on the brand, and i have been wearing size 29-29.5 boots for the longest time. then this summer i went to Larry's in Boulder and they told me i was an idiot and shouldnt ever wear a boot larger than about 28. they know what they're talking about, so i just nodded and apologized for being a fuckhead for so long.

so if my feet are about 2 sizes bigger than yours, why should you be wearing boots larger than what im supposed to wear?
