Hand Drag tips

Hey anyone have any tips for doing hand drags and the like? Also carving the lip tips? all help would be appreciated.

Set whatever rotation you want with your arms, lean back as you approach the knoll or whatever, then carve off the lip and smack yo hands down. And the key to carving off a lip is counter-turning

3) Repeat step 2 many times
4) Land it

get down low and drag your hand thats all i can expalin haha. because your down low your not going to get much pop and spinning big is difficult. so you gotta use your arms to get you round. also while your spinning your going to get corked(this happens everytime for me) but dont worry bout getting off your axis. thats pretty much all i can say . . . once you get hand drags off kickers dialed you get crazy and do sick ones off the knuckle.

just commit to it all the way because if you dont you will fall and look like a fool. and if you do you still might fall but it will look better.

okay here is a fool proof method.

1. know worm turns... handdrags are the same thing just faster and off the ground

2. you want a good sharp knuckle with a steep landing

3. There is no such thing as too much speed

4. the pop is more with your lower body, you are trying to throw your upper body down(as close to the knuckle as possible) and sending you lower body up

5. use the ground to leverage the last 180/get out of cork

6. as with any trick commit

I started learning them by approaching the knoll with speed and sitting back putting my left hand down on the ground (I spin left), and then jumping as I got to the end of the knoll. It's kinda a cheater hand drag - but I ended getting better with those and jumping sooner and sooner until they become legit hand drags.

one tip i have for hand drags is to go a little faster than you think you need to.

When I saw that picture of Pep Fujas doing the hand drag on Hellbents from a couple years ago and well, I became a bit of a ProHo and facebook'd him (go ahead, make fun of me) asking what is a way to learn to do them. He gave me the above advice with the addition of "if you can do them the first couple times into soft snow so that you aren't afraid of messing up and getting hurt".

Alas, I am a fatty that can barely bend down to change the buckles on my boots while clicked in. AND, I go to do one... I end up hockey stopping, catching an edge, and pulling a weird Lincoln Loop thing onto my head.

cork 3 with your hand over your head


or set a cork 3 but then stop yourself with one hand and pull it back to like a cork 180
