That's a pretty good idea. Maybe instead of it being a paid thing, mods could add members. Or better yet, nominate them, and another mod has to approve?

It would probably take so much coding to do all of that, and the site just had an overhaul anyways. If you are not an idiot, you don't get scammed. I have been here for a while, done TONS of transactions all the way from trading, selling, buying, buying for a friend, being the middle man, etc. and I have NEVER had one problem.

This system is not needed, people just need to be smarter about how they go about B/S/T transactions.

also, 25 legit feedback is a lot, realistically.

i've bought and sold on here before (plenty), and match all the other criteria, yet i don't have 25 good feedback posts, and probably won't for a while, if ever. i have not one bad or even mediocre feedback post, yet i would still not meet requirements for said trust.

Ya dude, I have 21 and that is over a span of a few years.... 25 is A LOT to ask for.


And to be frank, if both parties exchange names/phone numbers/emails, nothing SHOULD happen(I stress should because there are always the anomalies). And if one party refuses to exchange said pieces of information, back the fuck out cause you will probably get scammed.

This is the way I see it(other than the posts above me):

When I joined this site in the summer of 2005, I was excited to find something like I did. I lurked for a while(mostly in Ski Equipment since I was looking for skis to buy and advice on what to get), and rarely posted.

In the past 4 1/2 years, but mostly in the last year, it seems like the flood gates of dumbass kids was opened. Back when I joined, this place was a community and I never heard of anybody getting scammed or screwed over. Today, it is all you hear about and that makes people very wary of buying things.

I wish that there could be an idiot-proof system put in to make sure this never happens, but that is unpossible. There would be too much involved as far as site redesign goes, and overall, too much work. Instead, the great staff of NS has done things to help. The big thing that they have done was put in the Member Feedback System.

With the feedback system, it is something that I ALWAYS look at and use every transaction. If members, even the aforementioned dumbass kids, start using this feature along with the other safeguards that I have listed in my previous posts, the whole scamming thing should cut back a lot.

Yes, there will always be that one fucktard that tries to scam you out of money/product, but that is what our mods are here for! If you just PM one of them and give them information as to what is happening, justice will be served.

Now I know this is a long post, and I know that a lot of people won't venture in to Site Discussion and read this, but all good things start with just a few people doing them, and they the catch on. Hell, just look at afterbang... Tom started it and it is now a staple with park rats all over the states!

uni-corn is right. Though it would be a nice system, bst can work just fine without it... And I'm pretty sure Brogan had something to do with Afterbang's beginnings, too.
