There were 9 pretty serious Avalanche incidents in Colorado in October alone.
Rememeber to be careful, and prepared if hiking anything early season. Just because it's early season, doesn't mean there isn't a risk. It doesn't take much snow to slide to break legs, carry you off cliffs or against rocks.
Mostly new windslab accumulation over hard pack summer snow bases. Classic slab slide conditions early season.
