OK, i know everyone always asks, "what camera should i get" then everyone is like "oh, newb hv30" ive looked into the 40 and the 30, im thinking about getting one, i have about 800ish to spend on a camera, it has to be hd, i dont care if its dv cause im no pro editor. Could you reccomend me a cam besides those? i just want to look into everything. Thanks!

Vx1000 and a death lens.  It has a lot of awesome features like a handle, and zoom and stuff.

and it's not HD like he said the suggestion has to be. The VX1000 is a dinosaur.


Personally, I really really like Canon. Their stuff is often a bit different from the major panasonic/sony realm, but still really solid and they have amazing customer service in my opinion.

I would check out the canon HV20:

Has good reviews, has good features. Seems to fit what you're looking for.

^Forgot to add, that I'm recommending that because you will most likely be just as happy with that and spend less money.

Well you can look around which is good, but youll find that the HV20,30, or fourty are the best camera in that price range.

get an HV40
