Urban harsh on the skis?

kind of a dumb question, but is hitting urban rails any worse for your skis than hitting park rails?

of course.. there is normally cement and pavement everywhere surrounding the rail that you are probably gonna be scraping your skis on.. and hitting rails in general probably isnt the best for your skis. just use an old pair or something..

for the most part yes....urban rails obviously aren't amde for sliding. i.e the aren't smooth or maintained, rusty and urban usually involved riding on concrete, tar, bricks.... a lot of thing other than snow

last urban rail i did i used my park skis and they were fine. but there was like 2ft of snow around and piled up

There's a reason skis are sold in BST as in Urban Condition, and a reason that all the urban scenes in movies have last years models while all the park scenes have this years models, they are EXTREMELY harsh on skis. Concrete, rails that aren't meant to be ridden, salt, rocks, dirt, all sorts of obstacles - these all screw up your skis.
