Previously mounted skis

What are the disadvantages of buying skis that have been mounted a couple times? Are they weaker, or is it just harder to get a binding on them?

Both.  They are weaker and there is possibly already holes where you need your binding to go.  My rule of thumb is two drills.  If its been mounted twice and come without bindings its not the best idea to put a third set of holes in them.  Also if the holes havnt been filled properly water can get in and rot the core of the ski.
