What do you guys do for preseason workouts? I'm trying to hit the gym up more often and i want to know some good exercises to do to get in shape before the lifts start turning.
squats, wall sits, calf raises, leg extension, lunges, running, stairs, and a ton of core exercises (lower back, obliques, abs, good-mornings, and I don't know what its called, but you get the 2ft box and just jump onto it springing off both feet simultaneously over and over. agility workouts also help. And STRETCH REGULARLY!!!!!
Does anyone know any knee strengthening workouts? I have two strained ACL's and a partially torn MCL. I already ride with knee braces but i was just wondering if there was anything i could do ahead of time.
You can't actually strengthen ligaments, but increasing the muscle mass around them can help support. Braces are probably the best thing you can do, I did my mcl about 6 years ago as well, no fun. Stretching every day really helped and doing a lot of hi-rep/low weight workouts seemed to help though, if not they at least boosted my confidence in my knee again.
