hopefully you aren't ignorant enough to believe that this is a southern phenomenon. You must have been under a rock over the summer, because this shit was happening all over the country. A month or two ago, they had a HUGE protest in DC. Why don't you look into it more before you assign some bullshit characteristics to the lot of them.

If you were to take even a basic government class you would know that this statement is fucking stupid man. I'm not saying you are, I am saying the statement is. The Framers designed the Constitution in such a way so that it would be hard and difficult to get anything done. It is designed that way so that they wouldn't get another gov't like they had with England. I like the gov't system we have, I just think the people that are part of it... ie the politicians all need to be dragged out of office and have a fresh set of people elected.

Really? Because I think we need to redefine parties and the way we do things, because shits falling to pieces. It's not that we're not getting anything done, it's just that there's too much separation and misinformation to get anything USEFUL done. Rivalries between parties and news networks like FOX and MSNBC need to be shut down. Without the pundits, these people have ACTUAL information to base their opinions on.

And yes, we need to persecute more politicians for corruption.

That is probably the only flaw in the system, the damn political parties. The Framers didn't want that because then special interest groups (aka, factions) come in and fuck shit up. We just finished covering the Federalist papers in class, this is the only reason I am remembering this and actually sounding smart right now.

Anyway, it sucks for me. I feel like I HAVE to vote Democrat even though I agree with some Republican policies as well. I like free trade, despise government run programs (gee, look at our school system and get ready for the healthcare version), and want less interruption from them in my life.

On the other hand, Republican assholes want to see me dead or a third class citizen and I'll be damned if we allow Jesus in the White House again, and fuck war and their energy policies. Also, zero chance of kids or marriage.

Yeah, I guess I can see your point. The fact that something like gay marriage/rights gets put into a giant party debate is fucking stupid as well as religion. I used to think of myself as a republican but their stance on gay marriage, religion, and abortion are fucking nuts in a modern world. I am still not a democrat though.

totally agree man. the political parties that people will blindly stand behind and fight for have turned into these giant machines that play off peoples emotions and use the same bullshit ethical issues to define who they are instead of their actual political and economical issues. So you get a large percentage of ignorant people who will jump on board over something that they literally have NO idea about. Im a big fan on a lot of classic republican economical views, but the party has pretty much abandoned these in favor of playing off of peoples fear.

politics has turned into a reality TV show, and it really should go back to be the boring crap that most people dont care about, because when you get those people involved, they make some incredibly bad, and uninformed decisions.

It's not even the fact that these people are conservative that bothers me. Just the tone of violence and hatred in their actions is alarming. Liberals can be assholes too, but for the most part, they are absolute pussies. You rarely see liberals as aggressive and confrontational as these people are. ANY political ideal that delves into violence and anger automatically goes into the extremism category.

I've even seen it here at the U, where you'd think they'd get a lot of respect, but some hipster wannabe politicos think it's okay to tell them they're bad people because of what they do.
