I was talking to my uncle, who's company (http://www.savantav.com/) works in partnership with Apple, and he said apple's contract with AT&T expires january 1st of 2010, and that Apple plans to introduce a brand new iphone specifically for Verizon, when said contract expires. But they will still have one for AT&T.
i googled and found nothing on this, so i'm wondering if he's just plain wrong, or if they just haven't announced it yet.
