Theres nothing hyphy about Scott

I know Wallisch gets paid very well now, and deserves every single penny of everything he does for our sport.  But the last company I want to see on the best park skier of all time is Scott.  I already know, I am a hater...

I see no reason that he shouldn't be sponsored by them. They put money into the sport and thats what is important.

I do dislike Scott however for the conflict with ON3P over the name of a ski. They have no business doing that.

I will never put a piece of Scott gear on me.  Who the fuck wants to rep "SCOTT" on them?  Maybe I am sounding materialistic, but there is nothing cool about the name Scott.  I always thought their gear felt wicked cheap too.  Lets get real... we all want to feel good on the mountain.  With one of our idols repping Scott, it doesn't make anything cool.

I hope that Wallisch will have some sort of influence on the direction Scott takes their gear. Seems kind of like a sell out move to me. I would much rather have someone as influential with a core company.

If only it were that easy.  Wallisch will probably have no say over this.  The execs and legal people who make the decision are way higher up the chain than a pro skier who rides for the company.

exactly. scott isn't exactly a rider-based company like armada, on3p, or line. their pros may have a slight influence on the product, but not enough to make a huge difference

Who here has actually used their gear before? Its wicked good quality, I rode a pair of P4s for the last two seasons and they're too much fun, and there goggles are dope as fuck are really good for fighting off fog. I don't really see why everyone is so caught up with this, it doesn't really matter. I mean, is this going to change the way you ride?

dust the sand out of your vaginas. scott makes literally almost everything for our sport product wise.. and in terms of skis have supported some of the sicker athletes in the past, think jacob wester pre armada and laurent favre, not to mention all the athletes who they sponsor for other gear.

 i've been on scott skis for a season now and they're the only company to make a 190+ plus park ski that i know of (the punisher).. and it's rad. eeeveryone rocks their poles, their skis are huge in europe and making an impact here in north america, and now they have wallisch. scott is good news for skiing in my opinion. and as for the on3p deal, it sucks but its logical, the word scott will appear on their skis and potentially deceive people so hey, thats how she goes. i'm sure it will work out.

Obviously they're good news for skiing in your opinion. They're the reason that you get free stuff. Not to sound like a dick, but if I got free stuff from any company, no matter how shitty, I would at least say over the internet that it's a sick company. I'm not trying to hate on you, but it's hard not to have a heavily biased opinion about a company when they're giving you free stuff. I personally don't know anything about Scott except that I don't think their stuff looks cool.

The quality and variety of Scott goods isn't the reason most people are refusing to support them.  There's a whole thread on it, go read it.

You guys need to wake the fuck up! It's so easy to sit here and be the internet warrior and all. Like someone mentioned earlier, i don't believe a single one here, who says he would turn down, let's say 50 grand a year, a travel budget and free gear! If you do, your a liar!

That being said, i think scott makes sweet stuff, their skis are supernice, their goggles are dope as hell and their poles as well. Where does this scott hate come from?

You see heres the thing. Tammy Walmart will want his Amplids back. So he will have scott copy the dogma, syntax, and c7. In doing this amplid sues scott. Scott dies as a company. And Tammy Walmart will be back on the company we all know and love him with.

I have, and I simply didn't enjoy riding their skis. They're a bit 'lifeless', if you want to think about it that way.

I mean, Tom riding a 182, and much wider that the Antid, I think it'll take some getting used to. The P3 is a much better fit.

But Amplid make much better skis imho, end of story.

Brands have a huge influence over this sport, and over life period.  I am not saying I only wear named brand clothes.  But, when I am on the hill, I like to feel good about myself.  Maybe I listen to too much hip hop.

SCOTT is like putting a Dispatch CD in my 6 disc changer.... here we go, bashhhh me.

I agree, no one is going to turn that down.

Wallisch already established himself as a underground core rider, and then signs with a company like SCOTT?  Not saying he is a sellout at all.  But he just completely changed his image for the worst.

It is the ski itself that causes me most amazement.

Amplid has much better tech, more sensible sizing and measurements for a park rider, and the Syntax is as light as fuck.
