Longboard advice

im sorry, i know there are many threads on this, and this is just like the other one that says longboard help


but so...
I have ridden friends longboards a lot
i am looking for a long pintail style board for bombing big hills fast (like a road up to the local ski resort thats 16 miles long) done it before, getting a board for it
i want it big and stable because most likely i will be enlightened before bombing hills

not looking for anything where the trucks pop through either
preferably not sector 9 (if so tell me why its a good board)

suggestions?

i dont know many companies

I have ridden my friends Swift never summer board. Its got sick carving capabilities at speeds around 20 mph but anything less then that is not that great. So I would recommend that if your only gona be using it on hills.

well if your looking for a "long pintail style board for bombing big hills fast", id suggest a bomb hills, even tho you said preferably not s9. But i think it would be a good first board for you given the things you said. Throw some randals on it with lime zigs and you'd have a pretty dec board. Its a big board, wide and long, and with the randls it would be really stable.

yeah, you know, i could always recommend the kracked skulls scimitar, depending on your weight you could ask for more width which would make it stiffer and better at speeds, but it's really just a sweet carving board and will only run you about $100 if you look in my sig and use the discount code.

This guy knows what he's talking about.

Obviously S9 boards suck and thats why you don't want one.  However, they mostly suck because they have shitty trucks and wheels.  I too suggest buying the S9 Bomb Hills deck, and then just putting some Randalls and BigZigs on it.

I would suggest KS but you said you don't want a drop thru deck so thats what I would go with.

Try and find a Bomb Hills with S9 Race Formula wheels. They are underated as hell so they are cheaper than most decks but are a solid board and RF's are sick wheels. Then if it dosn't have them already put on some Randal 180s or Dh trucks.

Or if you have rich parents just get a carbon drop with maguns.

ok heres what i did, thought id let you all know


i searched craigslist, amazingly there was a bomb hills with 180 randal trucks for 100$
i talked to the kid and got pics, the board was thrashed a bit more than i liked

i ordered a sector 9 bert  scribble pintail

i already have sector 9 70mm green wheels and swiss bearings i was using on a carve board

or if youre only bombing hills get some 90mm flywheels.
you will roll so much faster and smoother than any wheel out there.

i'd recommend not to get a pintail board if your gonna be bombing hills...there hella unstable. Get a wide drope board for better stability and speed, i would suggest a landyachtz evo but i dont know if you have that kinda cash, amazing downhill/bombing board and its suprisingly good for curising around cause its so low.

yeah i know what your saying, but ive bomb quite a few hills on several different boards.(claim)
most of my hills are chip sealed so the drop boards feel every little bump, theyre definitely fun though, they feel like a race car
im planning on not putting on any risers to keep the board lower

forgot to add, my friend had a landyacht evo that i rode for quite a while and i couldve bought it for 100$ from him as he bought it for that, i just dont like the precision turning and perfect performance as much as a big old cruisin machine. if you have a super long smooth hill they would be amazing beyond belief
