Amplid Syntax, Scott Punisher or Volkl Wall ?

 Hey there newschoolers!

I'm lookingfor some new skis to replace my 06/07 AR6...
I'm 1m80 (5,9?) and 73kg (160lbs?).

I'll need a ski wich does it all... Mainly groomers. Something like 50% groomers, 30% park 20% BC. So something allround. My goal for this year would be getting better at switch skiing and perfecting big jump 1s and 3s. A bit of rail but not much I guess.

So here goes the nominees: Amplid Syntax, Volkl Wall and Scott Punisher !

Wich one would you pick?  I'm leaning towards the Scott since I can get a good deal on it.

And should I center mount them? I'm lost here caus' I want it to be still okay in BC but I know it's better to have a center mounted ski for switch.. so.. :x

Last thing, I was going for the moment reno jib but it's such a pain in the ass to get it in switzerland, it's a shame... But maybe someone knows how to get it here without paying 100$+ shippement fees...

You got money? (Those are three of the most expensive parks skis out there right now)

Personally, I'd love to have a pair of Syntax - super light, super low swing weight, nice and poppy, can rip all over the mountain. But that's just me. If you can get a good deal on the Punishers than I'd probably go with those (all three of them are super sick - which is why they're so expensive). I've skied the Walls and Antidogmas (the Syntax little brother - pretty much the same ski, but the Syntax is lighter and has lower swing weight) and both are AWESOME and can handle the big jumps, the Punishers are probably gonna be the softest of the 3 so keep that in mind. I know that probably didn't help much, but maybe this will help a little:

Volkl Wall - most durable of the 3
Scott Punisher - Softest of the 3
Amplid Syntax - Lightest and lowest swing weight of the 3

punishers are dope for sure! top rated by freeskier.
i got a pair for sale and i could sell em at a legit price but i dont know anything about internation shipping but i could still probably hook you p for lees then what retail out there is even with shiping you know?

Thanks for the early answers! For the shipping, I don't really know.. It sure isn't free though. I think there is something like 50 to 100$ worth of shipping fee...

But you need to add some taxes and tva caus of import rules in Switzerland and I don't really know how it works ^^ .

I havent read any of this thread, but I thought I'd remind you that scott are currently fucking over ON3P so don't buy their product till they sort out this fiasco with ON3P

Honestly, I don't give a flying duck about some "boycott organisation"...

Anyway, Scott is doing, and has been doing, some great skis over the years. That's all that matters.

Freeskier says that the punishers are an all-mountain ski. I have Volkl ledges, a softer smaller version of the wall. I find them hard to ski groomers with because, like the wall's, they're cemetrical. Don't know anything about amplid.

also, the topsheets on my ledges have chipped a lot along the sides.

topsheet chipping is very common and happens on pretty much all sidewall construction skis, it doesn't hurt the performance so it's not really a big deal, just annoying.

Good God man. GET THE SYNTAXS. they are like your ski. I just got them this year with a some FTFs on them at 10 din and they are AWESOME!!! no doubt man. they carve pretty well for twins. i went from rossi ghettos and they are a similar ski. They are expensive but they are totally worth it. the company ws a real help. A guy named brian helped me out. mounted them, for me and set the din to where it needed to be and i wasnt sure wether to get them mounted ski center (3cm back from true center) or true center but i told him i ski about 60% park and 40 % everything else and he was like "dude definitely ski center" and he gave me a bunch of reasons and told me that thats the way the ski should be ridden.


So for you since you ski a little less park the syntaxs are perfect. And since you ski back country a little (i think you said) they are perfect too cuz they are a little on the fat side of skis. they are the perfect all around ski. GET THEM dont worry about the price.
