Short poles, they are the best

honestly. ive been riding with poles that are "too small" by traditional standards for the last 3 years now and no one thing has affected my skiing more. i dont just use them in the park, but when im groomer shredding, bump slaying from time to time and when im riding pow. they are big enough to counterbalance, big enough to pole plant in the bumps if you must and they dont get in the way when youre skiing in the park. they are the best. anyone else use em?

for reference i am 6'1 and the top of my poles reach right below my waist line. my "dick" if you will.

hahahah i got though so many poles a year. where i ski people steal everything lol so ill just take a pair i like and spray paint em so if someone naps em like they did 3 times last year i see where they put there skis and hide em on them hahahhaha

Thread Bump. I love short poles, but I don't really know why. Like when someone asks me why I have short poles, I don't really even know what to tell them besides that they look good and aren't in the way. So why do we use short poles really?

i recently lost my beloved poles of 3 years and decided to cut down my old slalom poles and i love them but i still miss my old poles. RIP.

i have a short pair that i cut down and put bike grips on for jibbing and i have a pair of 46" atomic racing poles for shredding groomers and the likes. I actually prefer my racing poles due to the fact that im ex-racer gone park rat and then just allow me to relax more while cruisin.

agreed my skis would always hit my poles when I spun or something like that. I cut mine down and have never had that problem since.

I enjoy making exaggerated pole plants/pushes when I'm skiing without them, and seeing who gives me weird looks.

When they do I say "WTF is wrong with these poles?!! They fucking suck"

so apparently i already posted in this, but i dont remember doing so...

anyways i used to rock medium polls, at the time i posted, but then i forgot poles one day and took some kiddie rental poles and i love them alot. come a little below waistline

definetly true, traditional poles are supposed to make a 90 degree turn at your elbow when your hilding them standing up. I use ones that go a little above my waist when i ski anything other than park, and they are fine for pow/moguls/cruising groomers.

90 cms for everythign apart from teaching. short and light so they dont get in the way but can still touch the ground when im in the powder. dont ski anything else so thats all i need haha.
