but to contribute. i didn't think the trangers was bad.     the movie that scared the shit out of me, was the fucking muppets. had nightmares for months about it.. when iwas like 3/4  still scared to watch that shit...

YES.  I have the original Texas Chainsaw Masacre sitting right next to me.  Going to watch it after me and my room mate eat.  I haven't seen it but thank god it will be a good one.

i saw this one when i was 12... it wasnt scary when i was watching it but it just gets under your skin. i couldnt sleep well for like, a week. paranoid of everything, couldnt get it off my mind.

if you think this would happen to you, dont watch it.

The first time i saw a nightmare on elm street i was home alone and scared shitless but other than that most slasher movies dont scare me. Some good horror movies though are the shining, original halloween, original my bloody valentine. I havent seen blair with project or paranormal activity but im sure they will be scary. But one movie that legit freaked me out but was terrible was the excorism of emily rose. I swear i woke up at 3:00 am on the dot literally everyday for the next couple of weeks

I just think the Shining is what horror should be really. 1 person got killed in the whole movie and that wasnt even really a necessary/especially scary scene... slasher movies where its just a bunch of idiots running away from some murderer and having sex/getting killed for being an idiot = fail.

There is an old movie that I think was produced by stephen king where all of the vehicles, electronics, and everything not living pretty much came to life and tried taking over the world. It was pretty fucking scary, im not going to lie. I cant remember what it was called though

the first real horror movie i saw was Godsend and i could not sleep for a while after that. I've seen The Strangers, and while it was definitely pretty scary i think its a little overrated on the scare factor. still a good movie though

HaHa Yessss, I did that with a couple friends at a sleepover, and we nearly pissed ourselves.
We saw it again recently and had a good laugh about that.
But seriously I though that the exorcist was pretty effin-a scary for its time, the first time I saw the grudge I was pretty creeped for awhile but the second grudge is bullshit, The hills have eyes was just gory, One Missed Call Was only okay, All of the Final Destination movies should have there own genre: stupid bullshit, the Saw movies are cool but not scary, The Blair Witch Project was engrossing but not very scary, Cloverfield is actually one of my favorite movies, but thats just because its so funny (Insert part where bitchy girl explodes here), Paranormal Activity was okay, but not too scary,although I'm sure some people would disagree with me, and the new Friday the 13th was okay, but a remake.

All of which leads me to conclude that there are in fact no truly scary movies.

Except for Jeepers Creepers, Which is fuckin scary

when I was in the 5th grade I saw the original Alien. It was pretty fucking scary then....to this day its by far the best moving involving aliens ever...If you watch it again i think the Halo games were directly influenced by that movie....

word.  M. Night. Shyamalan movies in general all have really creepy and interesting plots and twists.  It's too bad most of these awesome ideas were poorly translated onto the screen.
