Twintip ski advice

Hi guys

As the title implies, I'm really in need of advice on which skis to rent/buy this season. A little info:

I'm 5"11, 165 lbs and my skiing style is semi-aggressive. I'm mostly going to be skiing in Banff this winter, so I really wanna take advantage of the sweet powder I hear they have there. I will be looking at doing around 60-70% of my skiing in powder or backcountry and the rest on groomers.

On groomers I like to do medium to large carving turns at high speed. I'd like my skis to be able to handle some jumps, but nothing big - just some drops in powder/bc and some 360's wherever. I'd also like to improve my switch-riding skills and just play around a bit on the mountain. The skis don't need to be good in the park - if we're going park a day or two I'll be renting some afterbangs og T-halls.

I previously rode Rossi Scratch Sprayer BC from 06 (I think) and thought they were pretty good, although they lacked a little float in deeper powder.

So, what do you guys think? I've been looking at the Line 100/90, Armada ARV and some of the K2 boards, but I'm pretty confused as to which ones excel at what I want to do.

You may want to consider something with a largeish waist if your into powder. You can get a fat ski that skis great all over the mountain. Line skis makes to models that area great example of this. The anthem, And the Elizabeth.

those two skis are really soft tho and might not be good on aggressive turns.

You might want to look at the line blends .. they are advertised as a do it all ski .. i have never ridden them tho

I own both of the skis above and can vouch for there turning ability. They are very soft skis however they have a snowboard like radius and can turn and carve like a dream.

I'd recommend the K2 Obsethed. Don't listen to the guy who recommended Anthems or Elizaeths - both of those are park skis.

Rossi s6/ rossi stratch steeze might fit the bill. About the same ski as the BC but wider underfoot, and I believe a little stiffer underfoot as well.. awesome ski

Bacons seem like they would do the trick, I have S5s and they're an awesome, amazing everything ski. I would highly recommend them, as they're super fun and simply made for high speeds and shredding everywhere and everything.

New stuff. I'm either gonna go buy em right away or rent first and buy after, depending on what skis they have for rent at the location.

Thanks to everyone so far for replying, seems like I have a lot more options that I originally thought...damn you ;)

Regarding the Line Francis Bacons, 115 underfoot looks pretty brutal...aren't they going to be a bitch to pull around in turns?

The Rossi S5 and S6 look pretty sweet as well...if they're anything like my old sprayers I might give them a look too.

I rode my Bacons when I was in Banff, and they absolutely killed it there. That was my reason for suggesting them. They do turn surprisingly well for their size. Try them out if you can... but trust me, you'll like them.

the 09 10 surface Watch Life. 100 underfoot and Surface makes REALLY good skis. There is also the Surface New Life, it is 122 underfoot and it's fully symmetrical. Then there's the Surface One Life, 112 underfoot, 3 STAGE ROCKER!, mostly for powder.
