Line chronic question (with pics)

So I have these Line Chronics right now and i was wondering how well do u think they'll do for rails. I no there not center mounted but with these pics i was wondering if anyone could give any idea how far back they are. I told the ski shop i wanted center mounted but i think they core centered them.

another question is do u think i should center mount them or is that stupid cause these skis are not symmetrical

they might actually be center - sometimes it doesn't look like it. Put your boot in the binding and then look at the midsole mark on your boot, see what that lines up with on the chart and then you'll know. It'll look like this:

ok but that doesnt mean true center does it ... if not what center does it mean

it could be, true center would be the measurement center, so you could measure it to make sure it's actually true center, if it's not true center then it means it was core center which has a bunch of different factors (weight, flex, ect.)

The picture above is of a true center mounted antidogma - the chart on the Chronics might be different.

Don't worry if they are not center mounted dude. Center mounted is usually better for rails because obviously you're on the middle but you'll get used to it in no time for sure. And if you ski outside the park you will be glad your chronics aren't true center.

I wouldn't worry about getting them remounted - but it is nice to know where they are mounted anyways.

Those definitely look like they are mounted at the midsole point. Id guess they are about -8 or more from center.

Those are at recommended.   The distance back is different for each size, I know the 181's are 67 mm back and I got them center mounted.  I love them.   I can't stand skis mounted that far back.  I personally don;t think they feel right for park.  Try them out and see if you like them or not, then decide on your next step.

Well if i get them remounted the holes are still there from my previous mount so could i change them back?

also what asian allen said i do rip alot of all mountain and i fell that i cant get any better at all mountain as i came from a racing backroud. But i do need alot of work on my park skills. So what do i lose from mounting them at true center.

im aware these are prob retarded questions but any help would be nice

The chronics are not a 100% park ski. You are better off setting them at -1 or something because that's where they will be the best on the mountain and honestly it won't change much -1 or true center you'll get used to it.

I'd mount them at -2 or -3 from true center. That's where I have mine and I love how they ski, they're meant to be an all mountain and park ski, and they ski great just carving groomers and cruddy stuff as well as skiing the park.

they arnt centered but if you dont want to remount they will be fine. i rode chronics that were not centered and loved them.  if you dont mind remounting them i suggest either centering or putting them at about -2.

ur straight they are close enough to center you can still shred rails with them it wont make to big of a difference in my opinion

I think it is basically saying that if you use the marked point in the "centre" (not really depending on the skis) you are taking full use of your edging capabilitys (more best displayed pressure for more surface from ski onto snow). But you could always mount them more forward to a perfect centre mount, that way your skis are balanced better on the rails and for other jib tricks (faster spins I find). Its a trade off, if you leave them at where they are now, you will get full carving capabilities, but they won't work as well for jibbing. If you get them perfectly centred they will be awsome for park but not as good for carving and stuff. I hope this helps a bit.

think about it like this... when park skiing and rails first came around, everyone was mounting their skis at the recommended line still. sure, they weren't doing as crazy tricks, but they were still doing fine.
also, if you center mount any ski that isnt symmetrical, will cause more forward pressure on the ski. by doing this, the tails lose necessary weight for a good edge in a carving turn, thus causing your tails to skid and wash out at times you dont want this happening.
