Help get Ski Sundown on Dirty Jobs!

I already posted this in Regionals, but I figured it's also something the entire ski community would like to see. Ski Sundown's Park Manager Jarrod (Fluff here on NS) made a post on the Discovery Channel website trying to get Mike Rowe to come to New Hartford, CT to visit Ski Sundown for his Dirty Jobs show. I think it would be awesome to see a show about how hard the crews work all night so that we can play all day, plus it would be sweet to see my local hill on Discovery. Just take a few minutes to sign up and post a quick reply on why you want to see Ski Sundown on Dirty Jobs. If you do decide to post make it as short and sweet as possible, they delete even the most tame threads over there at DC (remember that it's NOT Newschoolers!)


If you do this, make sure to reply in this thread and I'll give you Karma. (and I'm sure a bunch of the other Sundown locals will as well - but I can't promise that).

park crew isn't very dirty. maybe have him follow around snowmakers, at least their job sucks.

I am going to put my resort in CO on there.  Maybe for some snow making.  Thats a rough job that no one really sees.

thatd be ill but i agree with having the snowmakers included cuz there job can be 100x's more rough then park crew

I think he's having them follow everyone (park crew, snowmakers, lift crew, repair, cat drivers, ect.)

Sundown sucks aids. How can you ever justify paying $52 for 8 hours of skiing? Season passes are wayyy to expensive for '600 vertical feet of fun'.

Jarrod is a really cool guy tho. Sundown is a fucking joke.

wow, kinda harsh don't ya think, while it might not be the biggest mountain, but it has an awesome park with a great group of kids that are always there and always throw down. The cost is a bit high, but it beats driving 2 and 1/2 hours to go to mount snow to wait in line all day, it's nice to be 15 minutes away from a hill that you can pretty much go around and around all the time barely standing in line.

Im gonna have to agree with you on this one. While Sundown is sick to hit up every once and awhile, there's always crappy conditions (rock hard) and gaper ruined lips. I'd rather make the drive up to snow and at least actually ski for my 50 bucks

helllll yeah, stoked on this! I think it's important that everyone realizes the crap that mountain crews have to go through in order to open the slopes you ski on. Hope it happens!
