Im BROKE: RANT and need help

I am BROKE and it is killing me. I work here at school, but since the university has frozen  salary increases, i can't get a well deserved raise from minimum wage (7.30). I'm a student, so I am limited as to how much I can work. I have 30 DOLLARS to my name right now, with 2 months until I return home for winter break. I can't buy school supplies, food, beer (much less of a concern), or travel ANYWHERE. I'm running out of money on my meal plan account and my father won't re-fill it, EVEN THOUGH the university has raised its food cost by over 40 %. So I won't have access to FOOD even within the next month.

I am already working my tail off, and still can't seemt to make any headway financially. What am I to do? I don't deal, I gotta stay clean if I want to be a consultant or financial advisor. I gotta keep my grades up too, as the job market SUCKS.

Are student loans still availible? anyone else have these issues? because they are killing me.

You could try applying for student loans but they only pay for tuition, so, I doubt you could get one to help you out RIGHT now.

depending on your school they may offer Financial Assistance for broke kids who are just lazy fucks. I know at my school you can apply for up to $200 and its completely anonymous. You fill out an application and hopefully they hook you up.
You should look into that

Hit up some dumpsters and shit, bum meals, steal from kitchens. Get a job washing dishes or bussing tables and you can make extra cash and come up on lots of food at the restaurant.

really? i thought student loans are designed to help students get through school. you could apply for one and then see if they will reimburse yours? why won't your parents give you money?
call your grandparents? thats what i would do.

or beat some kid for his lunch money...
i get where your going i have like $1.35 in my bank account and like $1000 on my credit card. it sucks. being a student sucks so bad. so so bad sometimes.

Bro, I don't know what the economy is like in your area, but in Montreal, I hire people at the aiport starting at $10/hour, and are raised up to $12/hour within the first month...

I would definetly look elsewhere for work...you have to work a LOT of hours to get out of the hole you're in at your current job...

It took me three weeks of signing papers last year to get one for just one quarter to pay for tuition. Sounds like he needs a more immediate help. Student loan will come through, but they send the money to the school. Could just hope for the reimbursment though.

you could deffinently buy 12 packs of pop and stuff like that and mark it up and sell it easily. You could probably sell a can of pop for a dollar and it cost 3.50 or somthin like that for a 12 pack

I feel you man, being a students really blows sometimes. I have 2 jobs. look on craigslist for like cleaning jobs or something. they usually pay you pretty good and are usually either at like 5 am or 10 pm. basically you wont have to work in between classes and stuff. just a suggestion

It's a school job, he's probably doing work study which pays shit, and it seems like starting wages up in Canadia are better than here.

Student loans.  They aren't JUST for tuition like some people think.  They are for anything school related, i.e. bills, food, living expenses etc.  as long as it helps you while in school.

don't kill yourself take out a student loan.  Not a loan through the government FASFA or anything like that.  Just go to chase.com and fill out the paperwork and bam 10g's in your bank account.  Probably a good idea to get your parents to cosign and also probably good idea to switch to a major that you can actually get a job and make money when you graduate.

pretty sure he said he worked at the school. here in vermont, minimum is $8.06 and yet i still only get paid $7 for an hour working for the school which is what i think he is meaning. work-study jobs are such a joke...

and youre talking about in canada.

but to the OP, try getting your friends to take in rubermaid containers and grab a bunch of pizza or something that can be stored in a fridge and microwaved. try to bum money of friends and say that youll pay them back when you have more money. also, try to call up your parents, and talk to them calmly to state what your problem is and try to get some money from them into your account.

My friend made over $600 a month selling sperm and plasma.... But you have to have the right blood type for the plasma bit....


I started making websites my second year of school.....

Now I make more doing that than what I really want to be doing.

pornhub just told me that mike makes 7500 dollars a week from home and it showed a witty picture of him in an intoxicated state...maybe look into that?

if you're contemplating selling your skis, don't do it

for real i'd just try to get a better job, i'd say most jobs can do better than 7.30 an hour

plasma is plasma, there is no "type" like blood, so anyone can donate it. 

Also look into trying to work at a restaraunt, because you make money, and get feed for free.  a couple of my buddies do it and only pay like $40 a month for food. 

If you are good at your major, offer tutoring services for cheap.  it'll help you relearn the basics as well. 
see if you can get the solution manuals for classes and sell those.  just google "solutions manual for "book title""

lastly go to your Dr. and get an addrall predcription, and sell them to friends only.

Meal plans are basically the least cost effective way to eat in college.  Take that meal plan money, and put it towards groceries and you'll save a ton of money.  I spend around $30-40 a week on food total, whereas in the dorms I'd spend easily twice that much with the meal plan.

I'll add my rant here:

Alright, so basically I got a call from my old uni that I HAVE to pay them or else I'm getting sent to the Attorney General. I owe them $3,000, and they want atleast 10% of it by Saturday. I've been saving up for a week thinking "Alright, I get paid on thursday so I'll be good". Wrong. I went to this Intellius page (reverse phone books #s) to see if I was getting trolled by this girl (long story). It says it costs $5 for a lookup, little did I know it signed me up for a $25 a month membership. This set my bank account in the red, and I proceeded to spend $5 here and there on my Debit card for little shit like dip or a redbull. I look on my bank account today, got paid but I'm still -$180 in the red and I owe my Uni $300 in 2 days. I have $100 to my name, FML.
