Which SAT score should I send to colleges

The first time I took it I got
700-reading
620-math
590-writting
1910 total


The second time I got
660-reading
680-math
480-writing
1820 total

I am thinking the first since the total is higher, but my reading and math scores combined are higher on the second on.

im pretty sure you can mix and match...thats what i did...took at 720 from the writing and 650 reading from one and a 640 math from another...def. possible

take the ACT and send them that.

I have heard that, but then I read on the collegeboard site it doesn't work like that.

I looked into a little more and colleges will likely look at all your scores and consider the highest ones.

it will say it on the application. i mixed/matched and that was for schools all over the country. they might ask for all sat.act scores too, and youre gonna have to send them an official copy(s) so they gonna see all your scores which is good.

I feel bad for you kids today... writing part? that sucks.

Usually you can find what the average for the test you took was and compare it to that.

Depending on the year (if you took one fall and one spring) the level of difficulty is different.

Like one year the test may be harder and the average math could be 620 and another it could be 680.

I took it once and for the year I took it was in the top 86% same score the year before and I would have been in the top 79%.

So check what percentile you were in, cause colleges do see that as well.

Check the college for what their policy is. Penn State, for instance, only looks at best scores in one sitting. Most other colleges that I looked at look at your best overall.

Yep.

Send in both. Like others said, just look at the policies of the schools you're applying to and see if they pick the best out of all the sittings or if they're like PSU.

Send both, since most schools will only look at the higher one, and some may require that they all get sent


The act is much easier though, at least the reading, the math is pretty similar.

Somehow I got the same total scores on both the SAT's I took, guess I know which one I'm sending in, not that it matters.
