hey i bought a refurbished mac ibook g4, and i am having some problems, i cant play games and i can kind of play gnarshmallow but it is super slow like it takes a good 5 mins to get down the hill, and its all choppy, i also cant watch vids on youtube or here on NS. any help would be greatly appreciated, and +k for all helpful responses. thanks a lot
probably the best thing to do would be to take it to a specialist, but...
if there is alot of extra stuff on it try going through and deleting unnecessary programs and shit
Flash performance on a G4 is horrible slow. It runs the PPC architecture, an essentially dead technology. Search Google with the link below and PM Bangor. He runs 2 G4s with Flash and will be a great resource for tuning your Mac.
your right..my 64bit version of Windows 7 sucks...so does my Lenovo....I wish I had a spent more money on a computer that just "looks better" when I am not using it.
No, even Macs. I, for some reason, have had HORRID luck with Macs and PCs. All the iMacs I used at school, broke. The two Macbooks I bought used just like almost blew up on me. PCs, no matter what, they decide to die as well.
I know that you use your's for editing which is totally fine because there are easier to get video codecs and it USED to be easier to run more than 4GB of RAM on any Mac...
I would probably never consider buying a mac for any other reason though. But now that Windows has a more stable 64bit operating system, many of which have quad core i7 processors (that is 4 THREADED processors) and 12GB RAM...for LESS than most MAC's sell for... I will stay with PC
Maybe you just don't know how to use a computer... It is nearly impossible to make a computer completely die on you unless it is hardware related. As long as the hardware is fine, you can always fix it.
