Team Europe JOSS 2010.

So I think its about time to release some info about JOSS 2010.

I thought that I would start by announcing how Team Europe will be put together. This is not an easy task, no matter how I do it there will be discussions whether it was the right guys that got in. So I decided to go with a simple and fair formula, I want the best skiers to represent Team Europe at JOSS and I feel that this is the right way.

Team Europe will be put together based on the skiers performance at the City Big Airs during the fall, the two Europeans that has collected the best positions at the following events will represent Europe.

-Freestyle.ch
-Freestyle. Berlin
-London Freeze
-Barcelona Big Air
-King of style, Stockholm

1st=12 points
2nd=11 points
3rd= 10 points
4th= 9 points
5th= 8 points
6th= 7 points
7th= 6 points
8th= 5 points
9th= 4 points
10th= 3 points
11th= 2 points
12th=1 point.

The best 4 results will count.

***If a skier that is already invited to represent Sweden or Norway makes the top two, he will not count on the list, and nr 3 on the list will be on Team Europe etc. Since team Sweden and Norway has top guys in the Big Airs I will announce those two teams tomorrow!
Big changes are to be made…;-)

I hope you guys think I made the right call, I think this brings the best two skiers to Team Europe.

Not to forget is that there will be 3 skiers in the JOSS teams this year, the third skier will be a rookie (Never been invited to X games before) This spot will be open for qualifiquations, more info on this will follow!

More JOSS info will be dropping on here through out the fall!

Seems fair to me.. Except a guy like Lolo Favres doesn't stand a chance anymore, wich suck. But anyway, Elias Ambuhl is doing pretty well up until now, and that's sick.  He's up for the Rookie spot too.

not really, most of the City Big Airs combine Tech and Style points, so you have to have style trick (9 or under) and a tech trick (anything really). But since Lolo hasn't been placing that well in these contests it doesn't look like he'll be in it.

the rookie idea is real legit.
Although I think this kinda promotes spin to win, I don't think it will hurt the JOSS entries. Simon dumont pulled out a bag o steeze last year.

Sorry Jon, I'm making the teams this year, now seems like a good time to release them as well.  There will no rules in making the teams other than the teams have to kick ass.  here they are

Team 1: Jon, Russ, Andreas

Team 2: Colby West, Tim Durtschi, Dane Tudor

Team Nice Grabs: Mike Mertion, TJ, Lolo

Team Short Guys sponsored by Nike: Simon, Jossi, Sammy

Team Party: Peter Olenick, Matt Margetts, Josh Bibby

The Canadian Halfpipe team: Justin Dorey, Mike Riddle, Matt Hayward

The best competitors aren't always the best video guys and since it's a video contest, I don't really get it.

Lolo got 2nd last year and doesn't stand a chance to be in the contest anymore ? (unless they make a team France).

Last year's team were pretty much perfect, I hope they're as good this year !

Well I needed a third team member for team wildcats, they needed to be a wildcat type skier that will huck some crazy stuff, I origionally gave the spot to Scott Hibert, but he said his not up for crashing on Jon's jumps so I figured LJ was up for it

I guess i shall make a list myself. Seeing that there was 7 teams last year. I shall make 7 on my list also.

-Team Sweden A: Jon and Jacob W. (*reasons* I thought they were strong last year)

-Team Sweden B: E Dollo and Niklas Errikson (Reasons* E Dollo kills it like normal and after watching refresh i'd really like to see what Niklas can do. He threw down hard for Level 1)

-Team Down Under: Russ and tba (Russ killed it last year and i think he will be a wildcard for this years x games slope style, i'd like to say jossi but i haven't seen him put down anything amazing lately, maybe he's injured?)

Team France: Lolo and B dog (Lolo had the biggest screamin seamin i have ever seen in my entire life and b dog would throw down some nice stuff i think)

Team USA: Tod Wallnutz and Adam Delorme (Tod Wallnutz should be in no problem because he is the future of the sport, and i could be wrong but i think Delorme is American. Either way his section in turbo and refresh was money)

Team Norway: Hatveit and Hunder (Such a sick team last year that it would be weird not to have them, if they had to be split up i would but PC Fosse in which ever ones place)

Team Canada: TJ and tba (TJ kills it like always, and i can't decide who to put in the other spot. I like chug and all but he kinda looks like he's having a seizure or something when in the air)

Just my 2cents. I could be dead wrong. what do you guys think?

I want to see Phil C at JOSS cause he is the kind of skier who cares about his style in comps and not spin to win. Just look at him in refresh and you can tell he could kill it at JOSS !

thats kinda dumb, like this sport is just becoming big air. y is it just based on jumps, put some rail comps in there 2. and its gay because no names cant make it in because they wont be invited to thos big airs.

not sure if you got the memo, one has been sent every year for the last...oooh 5[?] years- apparently JOSS/JOI is, and has always been, a big air comp. THE big air comp if you will. So no, rail skillz not really relevant.

the rookie idea needs to be rethought. so if you haven't been to X games your a rookie, so some teams rookies will be Tom Wallisch and Henrik harluat. yup those guys are totally Ams.
