snowboards vs. skis (durability)...

is one more durable than the other?...i always hear about skis gettig jacked and falling apart because we ride hard, the way we should...but what about snowboards?...material and construction aren't drastically different so i was just curious to know whether snowboards fall apart, delam, break, etc. as frequently as it seems skis do...i've seen plenty of torn up skis but never a board...

yah they fuck theyre shit up cuz those dummys run there shit into the backs of eachothers boards and fuck them up, but they are lucky cuz they dont fuck theyre edges as easy on rails cuz they have so much base to slide on
always leave the bitches hanging, the lure of the donkey dizzle is enought to wrangle them back

boards are bigger and there arent two of them, with two skis they hit each other all the time

Just think about the whole physics about it. Snowboards are more durable just because they have more surface area. Think of it this way. It is a ton more easy to break a branch of a tree than it is to break the trunk, or in a more ski:snowboard ratio, imagine breaking a 2x4 vs. a 2x8

And also, if you get a gash on the bottom of a snowboard, it probably doesn't affect it as much as one would on your ski. All my friends have never tuned their edges, and only fix the big gashes and they rip like crazy, so snowboards (to me) seem to be a lot less maintenance.
Their bindings come loose though :O!
We'll have you dead pretty soon.

speed doesnt really matter ,so i dont give about the bottom of my skis. if my edge comes out, thats scary when you hit rails. head mad trix are the worst and dont stand up to any beating and start to chip.on two pairs of 1080s, i had an edge come out while sliding a double kinks
My drinking team has a skiing problem

^my friends are the same way about their bases and edges...it's like they have so much base area that a gash or scrape here and there doesn't seem to matter to them at all cuz they have plenty of other good base...i really don't worry about my bases too much either cept for core shots and stuff right along the edges...skis seem way more high maintenence than boards...edges, bases, everything......i guess a good indicator is the fact that skiers go through more pairs of skis than boarders go through boards...doesn't seem like too many boarders have to get a new board mideseason...

Snowboards def are more durable but skiing is still 10x better than snowboarding!

They are more durable, but i have seen a few boards snap, and shit go wrong with them. It all depends on how aggressive the boarder is

Maybe you're riding crappy skis?
I've seen skis bend and break, but only under lotsa stress, like coming up short on gap jumps, etc.
Seems skis are put under more stress because the tip and tail is so long compared to a board. So if you're landing dead on the tip it's got that much more leverage, plus they're narrower than a board.
Either way, if you're breaking stuff it doesn't necessarily mean you're rad. You might just need to ride smoother :).

it seems today that any company can slap together some material and pass it off as a snowboard and a shitload of people will buy them. sonwbaord bindings are really cheap too if you get a cold snap and they all start breaking
