Critique my preseason-edit! +k

Another "critique-my-edit-thread", hehe. This edit is filmed with Canon xha1. Shoot with 50i. Colorgrading done in Magicbullet looks. extras: selfmade dolly. What do you think? +K for legit replies

I use vegas for basic editing. After effects for slowmo/effects, and Magic bullet looks for colorgrading.

looks good, maybe have the rail at least a ride on, or lower, don't keep the jump above the rail in my opinion it looks bad. But nonetheless nice edit, got me pumped to break out my disorderlys!

Thanks! I used alot fisheye before, and a 72mm fisheye (16:9) is a lttlebit to expensive for me. I only use wideangle.  But thanks!

thanks! Legit response I must say!

 I didnt have any steadycam/glidecam thats why it has no followcam-shots. And I hate shaky followcam footy. And I dont want to change the name of our production-company. Mainly because alot of norvegians/scandinavians is starting to know who we are. And the song isnt used.

But I agree with your opinion on the motion graphics!

Hey man, that was pretty sick.
The filming, editing and skiing was all great, but as said above, the edit is a little plain and unexciting. That being said, I still thought it was really good for a pre-season edit.

What I am going to do in my edits this season and have been thinking about a lot is adding some type of plot or storyline to my edits, something that will make the edit stand out. Look at the knifeshow (mike benson) edits to see some good examples of what I mean, I can watch those edits over and over again without getting bored, even though they are snowboarding!

I have seen a lot of your other stuff and it is all sick, keep up the good work man!

I really liked the style of that edit, very clean. Too many switch ups imo,  but you cant really ask for too much with just one flat bar.

You could use a new pair of poles too hahaha

Yeah, Skifilm.no representin' !

I thought it was very good, the Motion graphics as previously stated do look abit.. unproffesional. But the editing and colorcorrecting makes up for that.

Some more exciting perspectives could have been used, but I know that you are a good filmer and know all of this from before..! looking forward to your next video.

Ever thought of getting a DOF adapter?

oh yeah!
Thanks man! I am going  to buy an adapter, but not this winter. I have enough money to purchase an adapter but I will save up, and buy an external monitor also (to flip the picture from the adapter, and make focusing easy)

BTW my filmpartner just ordered Canon 7D, so I will let him take care of the DOF shots this winter!
