So yeah, cypress mountain isn't having a park this year cause of the Olympics. If you bought a season pass it might be a good idea to complain to help convince management.
that's true seymour should be crazy this year with nike. the new features that ive seen and the ones grouse park crew plan to make are pretty sick this year.
oh woops sorry i dont know what the new seymour jibs are like. i meant that the features grouse has already made and the ones they plan to make are super sick.
Ill make sure to make the trip to grouse more then a few times then.
Looks like Cypress for sure doesnt have a park, just got off the phone with customer service.
They will offer a full refund for anyone who has purchased one.
that's a lie. there is plenty of pow to be had on the north shore and plenty of steep lines. at any of the three hills. just depends on what flavour you like.
i plan on getting lots of sick pow lines this winter at cypress, and possibly a return to thrasher creek at grouse. no care for a park
I was only semi-serious and semi-fucking around. Obviously there are spots. I feel like you should document the return to Thrasher on film and then send it to The Beast That Shall Not Be Named... by the way very bold to announce that on the internet where the walls have eyes, I salute you.
Are you talking about the bail out that hooks back to the bottom of Top Gun? There's a traverse that is usually cut back there. Or are you planning on going lower? Pretty fun spot. Some nice drops back there.
yeah, that's the one. Not planning on going lower. But I think you can meet up to roughly the same spot from black mountain too, so I also want to check that out. I don't know cypress at all, so I want to have some rough idea of where I'm going before I start skiing there copiously this winter. Nixon knows the zones well, so he'll be showing me around mostly. I was always a 'beast that shall not be named' kid in high school, so I missed out on the cypress exploration with you guys back in the day.
I am planning to helmet cam the Olympic express line on the first decent pow day of the year before i peace off to Japan. Should be a pretty legit line if i boost the skiers right side.
haha i got no hate for seymour and thats the only pass i got for the shore this year but seymour has NEVER had a 5 jump line so the very best you can claim is a tie
I'd be careful if I were you though, its a perfect slope for avvys and the top always cornices and is really fragile. Only hit it in rock solid avvy conditions, otherwise it's not worth risking it.
I wanna ski Seymour pretty bad this year... living in Squamish is good for only one thing...being able to ski both Whistler/Blackcomb and the 3 coast mountains when ever you want haha.
Seasons pass at Grouse, and Whistler/Blackcomb haha
Grouses jumps usually suck, seymours dont. Seymour has put up ill jump lines before and the rail setups are always better. If you're hyped on akward ride on features and boarder x jumps, grouse is it for sure.
I hear seymour has a WAY better rail set up. And last i recal, seymour has 2 parks? I find that everyone who rides grouse says seymours gay but they hardly ever go there so what do they know?
Grouse has 2 parks too buddy. And your findings don't make a lot of sense. Most people I know who ride Grouse (like myself) are usually pretty big fans of Seymours park. Nice try though.
