Okay first off yes I went to the show last night. Yes I paid to get in.... hate all you want, but I don't like to talk shit about something if I don't know what I'm talking about. So I paid my 18 dollars to get in and watch this and here is what I got from it.
Dynasty was easily the worst "professional" ski/snowboard film I have ever seen... even worse than the last 3 or 4 years of WME movies. I have seen Refresh, EDIAS, Transitions, MN Nice, Lets Dance, and So Far So Hood. Every single banger shot in Dynasty was footage that WME purchased from other film companies, and when I say every single banger shot I mean something like the 3 banger shots in the film. WME's editing staff absolutely murdered every single clip of anything worth watching by showing a 1 second clip of the trick and not showing landings and or the second half of a spin or rail. The absolute worst part of this film though was the fact that they actually were so desperate for athletes that they put the Schrab brother's in the film... I mean really guys? They bulit a shitty jump in a corn field in Michigan and had some shotty winch tow in system. I'm pretty sure the banger shot of their segment was a penciled out 7... like straight up penciled out, no grab, spin to win 7. I couldn't believe my eyes... there wasn't a single grab in that whole segment and it was just painful to watch. Get some real skiers WME. Oh and we were laughing our asses off when we saw people actually getting Luke Schrab's autograph. The soundtrack for the film was just so weak and poorly chosen. Jonny Moseley is such a piece of work too. I don't want to listen to some washed up mogul skier talk about how well known he is for his mogul skiing. The best shots in this movie were the ones from back in the day.... the ones that Warren Miller actually filmed. I didn't once hear Warren Miller's voice in the entire film... now granted I didn't stay for the credits so maybe they did put his famous "if you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do". But for some reason I feel like they always put that in before the credits. It was kind of sad to realize that WME continues to do well because the majority of the people who go to see their films now days are weekend warriors... the people who go skiing once year. It's disgusting to see people hootin' and hollerin' for a flim that is absolutely god awful. WME I want my $18 back and the 2 or 3 hours I wasted watching b-footage. Thank god I was able to go drown my sorrows in some liquid courage at a playboy mansion party last night.
