K2 Extremes

can anyone give me a comparison of the Extremes vs. the Afterbangs?
I'm 5'9 130 lbs. skiing 85% park/urban and then some pow.

It's alright man, but I would say afterbangs for you because the extremes aren't really, in my opinion and from what I have read, geared so much toward the park/urban aspects of skiing. The afterbangs are a true twin (great for park and skiing switch-you must mount them dead center if you get them), and the extremes are not. Afterbangs are also less stiff. I would definitely say go with the afterbangs for you. This might sound kind of crazy, but the afterbangs are on the cheaper side (which by no means makes them a bad ski), so maybe get those for park and urban and last year's extremes, which will be much cheaper than this year's but still the same basic ski, for all-mountain and occasional park. Extremes would be much better for jumps because they are heavier and stiffer. Either way, both skis are pretty darn good.

Extremes are also rather heavy, afterbangs, from what I have heard, while still a bit on the heavy side, are not as heavy. That being said, I have not heard a lot about the afterbangs durability, and I know the extremes are pretty damn sturdy.

the upside to extremes? durability and dampness (suuper smooth riding)

the downsides? they're a tank, every gaper in the world will have them (plus a few of the kids in the park), I've never been impressed with the way they ski, especially when they had the ptex topsheet on them (06/07 public enemies and earlier), and dampness (eats a lot of the life of the ski).

obviously, I'm not a fan, never have been, never will be. I made a thread ages ago about what was your least favorite ski, and the public enemy was the top, but suddenly they change the name and graphic and everyone is all over it.

I am on my second pair of extremes (need a third) and think they are an excellent park ski. While they are a bit stiffer it just adds a lot more energy to butters and such. There not exactly ninja on rails but you certainly get used to it. A side note on the durability the reason that I have had two and need a third is due to the lack of durability in the tips, in both cases the ski broke right at the tip, k2 warranted the first pair and i dont see why they wont again. Maybe I have just been unlucky? They are a dope ski and I can certainly see why many people on the k2 team prefer them over k2's strictly park ski. Whomp
