polar buff





i'm more interested in the original buff to just wear it like a mask, instead of having the whole balclava

My opinion:

The origional buff is good. The polor is bad. The polar is really thick which normally you would think to be a good thing for cold weather. However, I think they failed to do major product testing. It is quite long and when worn as just a neck gator it is too thick to really push down properly. What this means for you is that all your snot sticks to it and freezes and you end up with disgustingness every time you ski when its cold out. Some don't have the runny nose issue when really cold... and you are lucky.

I prefer the shorter turtle fur version. The micro fleece is especially nice, thin and very warm. Easy to push down or pull up.

That and I think balaclavas look silly.

Similar product called the Yowie by Outdoor Technologies. I think it looks much better

if i buy this, should i buy the regular or the arctic?

I have one its pretty cool
nice and comfy, thin if you want or you can double it over if it gets really cold

they sent me a few through last year, and the combo one is sick, its an original with a polar sewed to the bottom of it so you can keep super warm.

they do get kinda manky with condensating breath after a while though, then freeze, so try layering them, you get this problem with a bandanna anyways.
