listening to some of the kids on this thread shows why they are chained up.

People don't respect other peoples stuff. They aren't your rails so deal with it.

Build you own rails and have your own sesh some place else instead of crying about it

Straight up, you don't live here so keep your mouth shut. First off, this little incident that happened to my friends and i changed my out look on most snowboards because they are faggots like you. If you put a rail on PUBLIC property, its going to get hit. Its like going and hitting an urban rail, because its not your rail. All of my friends have respect for other people's rails. Then he specifically calls me out for being a skier, i am not going to be a bitch and just walk.

so whats the deal here ? i went there on sunday and had no problem hitting them there was like 25 kids there? Are JP and Jeremy kicking people out now? if so that fucking weak i understand they set them up but i have no doubt that any professiional skier would be so down with letting kids sesh there personal rails in public property , seems like a silly thing for those two to get pissed about if they are exploiting skiers

yep, if you don't want your rails to get hit then keep them in your backyard and not on guardsman pass where people are gonna go looking for rails to hit. Most people are generally respectful, but sometimes there are those kids that give everyone a bad name by being disrespectful. bs

If you're going to compare it to something at least lets be real here....fact is he gets too butt hurt over it..i know they're his rails but common they're fucking metal rails..I know every time I've gone up their with my crew we pick up after were done, don't move shit ,don't break shit, etc..i don't see what the big deal is...he claims, "it's not a skier thing"...he was a prick to us

let me put this in perspective for all of you

Yes, they are his rails. I am well aware that he built them, designed them, etc, etc.

Yes, it is shitty that some Variety pack something or other douchers wrecked them. If i could control the actions of others, I would.

However, I felt he handled the situation inappropriately. I was there. He was holding a hatchet. Do I know who Jeremy Jones is? No. I had just helped to haul a 50 pound generator, lights, and skis up a steep ass hill, all in the name of having some fun and maybe getting a shot.

To be met, abrasively, by a guy with a hatchet, is not too awesome.

Additionally, I understand that he wants to protect his rails. However, he stood and talked to us for about ten minutes, MORE than enough time to identify the fact that we were just innocently trying to ski, not being disrespectful or destructive. He could have let us hit that rail, and watched to make sure nothing happened. He was camping in the woods 50 feet away anyway. We even offered him to sesh with us, to which he rudely declined.

The simple truth is, we are just some college kids stoked on the coming season who were just trying to ski on public land. Because of his attitude and actions, Jeremy Jones has unfortunately soured my impression of "super-pro" snowboarders. I wish the situation would have worked out differently.

yep, sounds like the dude is trying to start a war, and that will do no good for his rail situation unless he plans to camp up there with his hatchet the rest of the preseason

i didn't really think that rails were being chained up but when i went up there yesterday i was bummed out for sure. So instead of bitching about jones and walker im going to go up soon there with a hack saw or bolt cutters, nuff said.

hey man im all for hitting other peoples rails in public land but cutting chains is fucked they if you are caught you will prolly get your ass beat , my buddies know Walker and Jones and theyv'e apparently stated if skiers keep hitting their rails its gonna become violent, pretty gay for sure but dont cut chains

they've said that for the past 3-4 years. they won't fight you. aside from being grossly outnumbered, jp walker has a lot more to lose from an assault charge than do a bunch of no named college kids.

ive never been so i dont know everything about the situation, but

Seems like if he didn't chain them up they would probably get dragged off somewhere else or stolen.

Maybe not your crew, maybe not your friends, but somebody.

that probably happened before too. You guys may be respectful, but a lot of people aren't

if a skier was the one who owned these rails they would be left out for all to hit and enjoy not just chained up sitting there rusting. snowboarders love to hate, and they dont have nearly as friendly of a community as skiing does. muahahah they still havent found the down barrel rail hidden deep beyond the waterfalls.

I would be pretty pissed if people took my rails into unknown depths of the woods, and I would also be angry if I showed up and half of my benches were broken. That being said, it is also public land so what should Jp expect?

Pretty funny. JP is in our office right now and was just talking about this. I figured I'd find the root of it here.
This is pretty simple. It's not a skier-snowboarder issue, it's a respect issue. If Tom and Will set up a bunch of features and random crews started hitting them, and trashing and stealing their shit, you would all be screaming about it. Just build your own stuff. It'll be more original and you won't have to worry about pissing anyone off. Sound like a lot of work? Yeah, it is. That's why these guys are bummed.

It doesn't make a difference that it's on public land. If you park your car at the park-n-ride, does that mean I should be able to smash your window? I mean, you left it on public land, right?

Please be respectful: to boarders, skiers and people in general. Whether you like it or not, when you put skis on you are representing a sport and a culture with a long and proud heritage. Don't make us look like douche bags.

well if they are in your backyard you have to wait about 2 months longer to hit them, and even then you'll only get to hit them within like 2 days of most storms if at all...

yeah then dont do it, but if your going to put them on PUBLIC land then dont expect chaining them to up trees to suffice as prevention because there are easy ways to get past that. And who gives a fuck about respecting their shit when they're gonna be douche bags about it to begin with and chain up rails that were made to be hit.
