Bern ''hard hat'' helmet

I thinking of getting a new helmet this season, and I was looking at the Bern Watts hard hat whit brock foam. I wonder if this helmet is safe because it does not meet any safety stander. I wonder If I should get it enyways because it is really comforteble. What do you guys think?

well... you said it, it doesnt meet any saftey standards.

i rocked one for two seasons. its enough to keep you safe on rails and up to md jumps, but i'd say if your jumping over 40 ft it might be a good idea to get a lid that is saftey rated... just depends on how upset you'll be if you end up a tard i guess.

i use it and its pretty good for falls, ive been riding it two seasons and had some pretty bad head bumps so its decent that way

that said, i wouldnt reccomend it. I got sick of the styling pretty quick, and theres no vents, so when thats coupled with the brim and youre hiking alot or working up a seat it causes your goggles to fog up instantly

bern says its designed to take smaller, repeated impacts instead of cracking after a major fall.  but like said above. depends on what you're using it for.

yes buy it definitly, and its always better than nothing, and its the coolest helmet out there i think. or go with the smith holt it looks like it but it meets standards

Good for general park use and cruising though I wouldn't reccomend wearing one in the Backcountry or on Backcountry kickers. Neither would I reccomend that you wear it over a 30 Ft jump. Better to be safe then sorry.

no its not a good helmet, its not certified, and it is virtually a plastic shell
 do yourself a favor and buy yourself a good helmet. its your head, actually protect it for christs sake

Bern does make eps foam models that do have a helmet rating,  its the brock foam models that have a hard hat rating.
