Why are the songs on youtube always muted

dont they realize how much publicity they get from songs being paired with videos on youtube? theres so many artist that i bought cds of or downloaded their music all because i discovered them from a youtube video, now every song gets shot down wtf?

in other words you took a song and put it out for the whole world to hear, and now Sony or "insert corporation here" doesn't like it. Youtube clicks a button and your shit has no audio.

Life sucks, find more unique music (not in a rude way). But if you put like fuckin deadmau5 no one gives a shit, but if you put lil wayne...yeah his corporation will disapprove.

i think its really fucking stupid, like it was said before, free publicity, and i too have found many new artists from videos on youtube, although i didnt actually go out and buy cds, i just download it, but some people actually buy

Its actually not WMG doing the bitching. Youtube doesn't like WMG so they mute every song copyrighted by them. Youtube is actually muting them and passing the blame to WMG. Videos using your songs is some of the best advertising there is.
