there is technically 6mm of play. you can usually get a little more depending on how they were mounted the first time. whats your old bsl and what would be the new one?
depends on the bsl difference, there's about a cm of adjustment overall so it depends on how big the new bsl is and where your bindings are originally mounted relative to the wormscrews
but you can adjust them by closing the binding and turning the wormscrews on either side of the heel
on the heelpiece, look at the little white slider behind the turntable...there are two small black notches, one on either side of the white thing, and the edge of the white slider should line up with the black notches (i think)
To get correct forward pressure you adjust the wormscrews until when you slide your finger from one black notch across the white forward pressure tab to the opposite black tab and you feel that there is nothing but a straight line. Having adjusted many i find this the most effective method. Line of sight adjustment could be incorrect as the turntable heels requires a precise forward pressure.
new fks forward pressure question. I adjusted them as small as they would go and the white tab isnt perfectly strait with the black knotches. Its damn close but not perfect. So i was wondering, will the binding release properly when its adjusted to the smallest it will go? I know that youre only supposed to go between the two little knotches on the wormscrews but i went the whole way. And will this little bit of non-perfect forward pressure screw me over? I'll post pics if anybodys interested
^As small as they go is ok. The issue is really when you are on the other end and they are maxed out as big as they go. FKS fwd pressure isn't really exact as so as long as your pretty close you should be good. You should also check it pretty regularly.
