Are these a good deal--------K2 silencer 2010?

A local store called sports mart has the 2010 K2 silencers for sale with marker 10.0 bindings- brand new. they are asking $449.95 for them. I need a new pair of twin tip skis this year. I like em. They are the 169 size. Good deal? I think so. They are local which is nice. If you guys think it's a good deal I'll phone em and ask em to put them on hold for me.

a good deal? no. are they ripping you off. no. Unless you are a complete beginner, or a kid/girl get a little better binding, that marker 10 din is just gonna be problems. plus you can do what i did and just search prices in google....

its alright, but definitely not that great

look up the sale prices of both of the items and read the reviews on them

marker 10.0 bindings arent great, they get the job done, but are likely to fall apart if you ski on them a lot

the silencers are a price point twin tip. coming in at about 300 at any shop not on sale.

subtract 300 from 449 and you have 149... i would not pay that for those bindings.

Without the bindings they are 329.95 and this is CANADIAN. Being myself living in canada. Should I just get the skis. Because really they are like 315 online with $50+ for shipping. Most places don't even ship to Canada. Also ther is no way I'm going up the whistler theis year for a pair of skis when they are setting up for the 2010 winter olympics. So I'm thinking I'll just buy the skis.

I maybe go 15 times a season. I do black runs and some park but nothing major. No backflips or anythang like that.

I just want something to ski with.

The only difference between this years Silencers and those form all the other years they were made is the graphics.
That's a fair price considering you're in Canada, but try to find some better bindings. You could probably find a better pair of skis at a shop near you for $100+/- more, so i would look around some more. Silenncers are ok for park and all mountain, but they aren't very lively, and not great in powder. I got a pair used and they only have one place where the edge delaminated after 70+ days of heavy use, so they're pretty durable. I like ow they ski in bumps. I would look at K2 Disorderlies (if you want to do more park) or Extremes (for more all mountain) both those skis will ride better, having sidewall construction, but that also makes them a little heavier. Since your shop carries K2, they probably have 1 or both of those models and I know at my local shop the Disorderlies are like $70 more than Silencers.

Binding wise it has lot to do with how much you weigh, and how aggressive of a rider you are. Ski wise weight and aggressiveness also play a role, also what do you want to do on them? Park/pipe/jib only I hope. Otherwise that is a bad ski choice for all mountain high speeds, crud, and powder is out of the question with that waist width.

i hope thats not based on how rad you will look in the lift line. entry level is still entry level regardless of the year. The only people who will recognize you as having this years skis/bindings are the same people who are here telling you to get better equipment. If your jibbing and doing black runs at the very least upgrade that binding. When it brakes and your in and out of the shop for warranty work you will wish you had spent the extra 20-50 on better equipment.   but hey to each his own.

These skis are good. My tried a buddies of mines last year. I will get the better bindings. The place I go to has a wide selection of them. As far as the disorderly skis go. I would like them but my price limit is to spend $550. I don't know if I can get a pair for that cheap. I will phone tomorrow to see if they carry them or will bring them in in the future.

I like how this years looks. It's the only ski with all white on top. BUT the disorderly has a way cooler design.

So does anyone here know of a site that will ship to Canada?

Reading the about these skis on the net how do you think the disorderly will handle all mountain. Keep in mind that I like fooling around on runs like going backwars buttering and do small 180's and so on...

Will the silencers be good for that? Also how does the disorderly handle on back runs? Being lots of bums and turns.

NO WAY I'm I getting the disturb skis. Not for me.

theese skis were avaible brand new at the ski swap today wit hbetter bindings for 250$ i think you will be ripped i would have got them but the bindings were to far back and i didnt want to spend the money to remont them

where the fuck are you buying your gear? I'd never pay MSRP on skis. you can get some actually good skis, rather than a pricepoint ski for less than what "sportsmart" is asking. You must not know how to use the internet very well.

the silencers are pretty good for a beginner/casual skier for sure.  For the color, seriously its either red or pure white, not really a big deal in my opinion.  I bought the exact same setup as your going for last year but for cheaper.  The marker 10 bindings are just awful in every way.  They are heavy and not durable at all, it was my first year skiing and i already ripped out the heal piece. 

Get either atomic/rossi/look bindings so you dont break your bindings on your first few days.

No, they're good compared to other shit price point cap skis like Rossi S1.  They are not good compared to even mid level skis that are barely more expensive.  Even better than that, stop being so picky and get something great that is lightly used for a great deal on a good ski. 

"older sucks".  You'e an idiot.  You don't need 2010 skis for the 2010 season at all.  The majority of skis for 2010 are just a new topsheet for 09 or older skis, and some skis(helbents, rossi S4, etc.) have been the same since 08(bents) and like 06ish(S4s) with different topsheets.  So look around in gear swap for a good pair of skis that is used...fixed core shots IMO ski like new and get a great deal.  Also get a 90+ waisted ski if you are skiing all mountain and park on one ski, you'll like it more.  If you like K2 get Kung Fujas

I bought my skis.

I went down today and saw they had disorderly skis (3 pairs). They are the 2010 ones. Got them for $469.99.

I decided to treat myself. I don't give a shit if I paid to much for them. I was very shocked to even find them here.

To ship them here would be more.

wow. i got my volkl walls for 360 and free shipping and i thought that was expensive. and my bindings were 137 with free shipping. you were looking for under 550? you could have easily gotten anything for under 550 because of free shipping from most shops on orders over 100

learn to use the internet, i got last years watchlifes with px jibs 14s for 250, dont buy from sportmart go to a real shop, if your a chill person you probabaly wont pay retail, look at backcountry now they have good stuff for cheep
