.......dont know if this is a repost but does anyone else get kind of bummed when they see that they got the womens issue of freeskier. Im jsut not that amped about it. The stuff these women are doing is sick but a whole issue is kin of a bore to me. THis issue of Freeskier was marginal in my eyes

it may not be interested to you but it could be for other people, i perosnally love to know whats going on in the world of girl skiing and shit, sorry im a lilk fucked up but you gotta give cresit to these chicks out there shredding and trying to push the sport further for us, if you dont care abotu it dont buy it simple as that i have a feeling women's freeskiing will blow up in a coup0lemyears just a matter of time. peace

we need more kaya turskis and ingrid backstroms that are really pushing it though. there are far too many mediocre girl skiers. theres no physical reason why girls couldnt kill it on rails, its not like you need strength for that. jumps i can understand how weight and size and raw strength can benifit you. but not rails

I completely agree not enough of the women are really killin like the few that are. Adn its not that I dont care whats happening in the womens ski world I just think a whole issue dedicated to them is a little much considering the fact that only a few of them are really pushing it.

I thinka womens article in every issue would be a good blend in the magazine.

Ingrid?  Really?  When I watch her ski its like watching my mom rip when she was in her prime.....  she sends it down some steeps but that's about it......  First thing I do is hit FF when her segment comes up.....

raw strength?  I didn't realize Henrik Harlaut was so ripped and powerful.  What the hell are you talking about dude?  its about sending it.....  What it comes down to is sheer volume of girls.  There are fewer good girl freestyle skiers simply because there is a smaller population on the mountain as compared to guys.  How many girl skiers do you ride with?  We have one in our group and thats it.....  The less of a pool to select from, the lower the quality of talent....

We need more skiers like Sarah Burke.....  I saw her throwing misty 9s in person (claim) and that was crazy to see a girl throwing down like that.

lol if any of you read the spin opening letter from the editor or whatever, when freeskier first made a womens issue they got tons of love mail from dudes saying they liked seeing sexy ski chicks and they also got hate mail from chicks saying they didnt like their representation of the sport. woo its one issue just read it and imagine you can rip half as good as michelle parker.

thats why i said in a couple years i have a feeling there will be more girls like kaya and ingrid, skiing is getting bigger each year so more girls will know about it, its not all about physical matter that girls arent going as big as the guys.  Skiing is probably 97% mental i've talked to ashley battersby about this same exact subject and this is where we got to, guys are more strong competitive minded;  If you see a jump that scares you its like a challenge and you gotta do it, push yourself this is harder for girls to do.

more girls does not mean a higher quality of girls skiing.  girls skiing will no longer be a joke when girls start actually pushing it.  they are all so content with basic tricks because thats what gets them noticed.  Assuming Kaya is the best female park skier in the world (which I believe) watch her promo, on every trick, ask "would that trick get a guy even a shop sponsorship?" 

no grab 5s, 7s and switch 3s should not get people sponsed

she did a switch 9 off some crazy jump i cant remember right meow, i saw another nser up here throwing rodeos i think it was nina or something, we're getting there little by little, just hope it doesn' t stay the same when we're getting payed the same as guys in xgames haha kinda ridiculous. have you seen that like 9 or 11 year old girl throwing 7's? the vid might have been on top rated for a while, thats why girls will go bigger as well, little girls like her are starting park maddd young when most of us didint get into park later on because it wasnt as popular before.

wasn't this about the freeskier women's issue? oh well..the mag wasn't terrible other than the overwhelming amount of mute grab shots (although in one grete is reeeeeal close to blunt). BUT what the hell was with the pages with shots of skiing then ones of random models? that was really just kind of weird. i thought the models were the skiers for a bit until i realized i didn;t recognize them. why are they in there?

Stop hating on girl skiers.
Everyone knows guys are better because they are stronger and encourage each other to do crazy things since birth.
But girls are getting better. Watch any young girl skier now, she's just as good as any guy. But you ave to realize that freestyle skiing isn't exactly the easiest thing for any girl to get involved in. Almost everyone who does it is a guy, and there are very few role models for girls to look u to. I think it's great that Freeskier has a woman's issue now.
Girl skiers will catch up. (maybe not in pipe) but look at girl snowboarders today. They're just as good as the guys.
It's great that sponsors are finally taking notice of the effort girls are putting in.

But she's skiing the same steeps as the guys. Just because you want to see park stuff doesn't mean she rips like your mom. She is a great example of someone who's pushing girl's skiing.

The thing with Sarah Burke is, she's been doing that stuff for years. No question about it, she kills it, but she stopped progressing. There was a time, 6 or 7 years ago, where she was close to the top guys in her ability level. However, they started progressing more, and she didn't really. No offense to her, but there are other girls who are overtaking her because they are progressing to where the guys are.

Honestly, i think that is a bit unfortunate that you say that, i mean i understand why you like to see all the crazy stuff that the guys do. It is way cool to see. But you have to realize that these having a girls magazine come out it so cool to see for all of us girls. Especially since there are so few of us girl skiers(in comparison to all the guys) it is really exciting/inspiring to get to have a whole magazine about girls. I am from Montana, you would think there would be a ton of girls around here that ski, but theyre arent!! I have skied with one girl before in MT who actually skis and doesn't just sit in the lodge & complain about the cold, or hang out on the bunny hill. So for some of us this is really awesome to get to see these girls out there killing it and to get to read about all of them, and how they started skiing.You should be excited for us!!

i think girl skiing should have its own media. Girl freeskier, girl NS, girl videos.Maybe a poor girls production?. So no one has to waste their time with that shit if they don't want to.I personally can only tolerate watching about 5 girls in the world ski. Maybe some of these hella progressive chicks on here should get the ball rolling on it.

I liked it, it had good information on the girls of skiing.

Plus, even with all the anatomical differences, I still have a hard time seeing why girls aren't doing the same stuff guys do. I mean I'm not a girl, and I don't know if it really is harder to some of these tricks, and it's like I or anyone else will ever know, but I think they just need time. When guys started skiing, and I mean like when douglas and the rest of them really started it, it took them and others time to really get good. Well only now are lots of girls staring to better at skiing, so they need time too.

I just wish they would quit it with the themed months. Keep it to the Buyer's Guide at the beginning of the season and that's it. I'm tired of getting the resort guide, women's issue, etc. I feel it's the same shit every year.

I saw a video awhile ago on TGR of this girl just ripping it. It was backcountry ish stuff, not park. Front flip of a 60 foot cliff or something and just a really sick clip, great skiing period, not for a girl.


I looked for it for awhile but cant find it, anyone know what I am talking about and have a link?


Also that little 7 year old girl kills it to. If she keeps at it she will be ridiculous in a couple years.

Things have not been the same since "freeze" ended. The competition between Freeskier and Freeze made them both great reads. Both of them worked their asses off to be better than the other one. Ever since that ended it hasnt been the same.

Okay, I'd buy that magazine cause I dunno, girls with mad steeze that can throw down are pretty attractive, regardless of what they look like ha ( but normally they are pretty hot as well)
