I'm moving to vancouver in mid/late november, just wondering if anyone can give me advice on places to stay... cheap rent ect. stuff like that, ill be needing a place for about a month.
Yeah I am moving to vancouver, not just staying for a week... I probably will be able to get a room through coast longboarding with other skaters which would be pretty great but just wanna know what other options so i have a few incase something doesn't work out. cragslist is great K+ for that, the aussie version is pretty shit compared. hostel might be an option, i can afford rent for two months so far at places around the $500 mark or a little more and hopefully ill get a job not too far after arriving to support myself. cheers!
if you already have your visas and stuff you should email the vancouver olympic comittee.
they are desparate for people to work for them and have tons and tons of well paying options as well as tickets to events and shit.
there are lots of sweet places around vancouver to live you will be fine. just avoid main & hastings and surrey areas. haha
if i decide to not go back to toronto you can MAYBE stay with me on my boat in false creek. 5 minutes from granville island and kitsilano 4th st. you and me baby. we can make it.
east van for the cheap rent. some dodgy areas but right on commercial is pretty dope. as long as you dont mind the smell of hippy though(seriously they actually have a distinct smell.) and actually we have a place in my house for rent right now its a studio for 400 a month at the corner of commercial and 12th. not the biggest place but well cheap and underneath a house full of skiers/artists.
