New camera

Im looking to upgrade to a 3ccd camera and i am looking for suggetions, i have been considering a Sony Pd-170 or a Canon GL-2, but i am ultimately open to suggestions.

Unless you need xlr inputs get the 21k instead. DVX is the obvious choice if you can afford it. I have owned both and I loved both of them but for different reasons. I couldn't pick between them though. I'm sure others will say dvx but I liked the 21k just as much.

where are you as far as skill level. you cant just get a dvx youll be fucked

thanks for the help. i have been leaning towards the PD 170, and thats prob what im going to end up purchasing. Im a film student so the Xlr mics are pretty impprtant, otherwise the 21k would be nice.
