Those skis are actually good though, not that pair of rentals they made in the show.

By the way, I always thought a core was one piece, not two glued together?

Yea im pretty sure any good skis are. Thats just what i want is a weak point right under my ski where it flexes over the rail. 



cool vid on the construction of the afterbangs, but im sure its old news for most people.

about the weak spot, i was told in my wood shop class that a properly glued wood joint is actually stronger than the wood itself.

hahaha, now with dead race horse construction!.

yea a glued joint can be a very strong bond, but skis flex, and wood glue doesn't like too. I would think that would lead to stress points on either side of the glue? not sure, not an expert, just talking out loud.

A core is usually multiple pieces of wood glued together, this makes the cores much stronger. Glue is not used, epoxy is. Armada has capitalized on this technology by using heavier, denser woods with lighter, weaker woods to make overall super strong but light cores (JJs).

it looks like on most of my lines they have like 7 peices of knotless wood, bonded horizontally running the length of the ski.
