Water ramp

ok so for next summer i want to build a water ramp into a lake/pond. first off how should i build it? 2nd what should i use for the surface for cheapest outcome? how deep does the water have to be were i land?

it doesn't matter, but if it's flat and even water, it's going to hurt, compared to if it was like being bubbled.

yea, its gonna hurt if you dont have it bubbled.  but if you land right then it wont hurt at all.  like if you just land on your bases.  but if you land on your back or hip then you might be the next tanner hall after chads but with your hip or back injury

actually i just thought of something, get some hose that you could hook up to an air compressor and drop that line to the bottom, cut holes in it to let air escape, and have a air release on the compressor and you'll have your water bubbling!

im pretty sure those bubbles who be too small to effect the surface tension.

okay well obviously you could build the jump, the only question is, can you hit it with snowskis in the water? like can you get up and everything and how do you make the set up with the skis.

if you have to ask the questions you are askin gyou should not be building one. go to one and figure out what you need then go to town. a water ramp is no amature summer setup adventure

yeah just build like a carpeted inrun. i just dont know how deep the water will be after my dock since i got a new one.

i did this last year and it was DOPE!  what i did was i have one of those plastic pvc docks (jetdock.com) and it is like a good 50ft long.  so i got my waverunner and tied a wakeboard rope to that.  built a jump and bobs your uncle.

my neighbor has an actual waterski jump that we use all of the time, with snow skis.  only problem is if your bindings release, your skis will sink right to the bottom.  so crank up that din!

glue that blue or pink insulation foam to your skis with silicone glue for the summer mabye? the leashes seem like a bad idea if its deep, think about swimming with skis around your ankles..

but if you're hitting a jump, what would i matter, you're close to shore and you'd be able stand up with only swimming like what 15ft? leashes seem like a good idea, i'm going to make one this summer

I think that if you ripped up a jet ski engine, and mounted it under where you land, then you might have a legit, non-painful setup.

Or not, make your jump with a huge lip, like vertical huge, and then you might be able to mount the engine right under the take-off.
