the AFD's fell off both my toepieces on my FKS 120s this summer while i was skiing up at hood. just curious whether this is a part that i need to replace or if it even really matters for the binding's proper function. and if it does matter, where could i find replacements?
yea, you should replace it. rossi should be able to send you new plate, or if you dont feel like taking the binding off, you can cut a new one. that plastic is called Ultra high molecular weight Polyethylene, also known as UHMW and Ptex. same shit as whats on your bases. local plastic suppliers should carry it, and you should be able to get scraps for cheap. other option is to order online at McMaster Carr.com. heres the part number you would prolly want:8270K21
a 1 foot square is like 7 bucks, and should be more than enough to make some new pads. when you get um cut how you want, abraid the back real good, and pass a flame over it lightly. get some 2 part epoxy from home depot, and glue that shit down.
