joined ha i went fly fishing the other day and its so cold that puddles were frozen parts of the river were ice and the eyes of my fly rod were icing up so i had to give up hahaha

my dad bought me a fly fishing pole for christmas and i have never taken it out of the box because it is at his house. he has used it once or twice. haha

its tonsss of fun if you learn and know how to do it. tons no joke. about 10x better than just casting with a normal rod.

with a normal rod u get like a min or two of fighting but when u use a fly rod its a long fight and more exciting and a good feeling when its a fly you tied yourself

i appreciate the invite.  ffing is pretty much all that's on my mind at this point.  caught this last week. only boosted the exposure, the colors are legit.

yep.  they're sterile but they do a false spawn and this time of year their colors are ridiculous.  watched him chase down my bug three times in a row and finally munch on the third time.

oh dope what kind of fish is that? we have sterile coho that come here likie right now and get super dark deep red and i catch em on flyrod with leach pattern streamers i fight for a solid 30 minutes hahaClick for larger image

noiceee. i went to salmon river ny last weekend for the salmon run. we hooked 60 but only pulled out 2. quite the number but we were still satisfied cuz its a hell of an experience. you hear the drag going out and all you see is your backing left. its crazy. pics later.

Nice, ya, we have landlocked sockeye (kokanee) salmon here.  That is a tiger trout.  It's a female brown/male brook hybrid.

^it's not the easiest thing to pick up, but the rewards are amazing.  Anyone can flip a bail, chuck a lure and haul in a tiny fish, but the process of building presenting and hooking a fish on a fly is sublime.  Every twitch of the fish's head is transferred to your body, connecting you fully to the fight.

An invite would be great.  And how about fellow tiers?  I just took an intro course this winter and loved it.  Very hard, but a very practical art form.
