Alright so at the begining of summer I had created a thread about my upcoming soccer season. Touched on how we moved into another bigger league, and not a single soul had hope for our little soccer team. I come from a small school. It's one buiding K-12 240 kids, I have the largest graduating class in history with 32. So with a small school, there is not alot of talent, be we do well for ourselves. In the beginging of our season where we were playing scrimmages we lost just about all 6 of them. It being my senior year i was not a happy camper because of the losing, and i wanted this season to be perfect. Soccer is my life and I did not want anything to screw it up. But then our regular season play began. Our first game in this new league where everyone said we would do shitty, we beat a team 11-0. And then from then on till this weekend we were 8-2. beating a team ranked 2nd in the state. We are currently 1 point behind first place in this new league, the league that everyone said we would do shitty in.
This weekend though was the most amazing two days of my entire soccer career. We went to a tournament that we go to every year, and every year we always get paired up against the host team. (small tourney only 4 teams are in it, so we only play 2 games.) The score is always 5-0 or 7-0, or something crazy like that, and they just kill us. But this weekend was different. We were paired up against the host team like always in the first round, and we played our asses off. by the end of the game we were so tired we could not run or walk, but the 2-0 victory over the host team was way worth it. We have never made it to the finals before, so we were so pumped up and ready for our next game, the next day.
Our finals game was at 5:00 p.m under the lights at the field, a game where everyone comes out to watch. We had been waiting for this moment since the end of the game yesterday. We get out on the field and warm up strong, and we think we are the shit, and noone can touch us. The game begins and 2:43 into the game they scre against us, and they kept it like that till half. Our coach tore us a new asshole during halftime, but that is what we needed, we needed someone to bring us back down to reality and let us know we need to pay attention to other teams. So we come out the 2nd half looking for blood, and we get it! We score 1 in the 47th and then later in the 64th minute, making it 2-1. Then that scoreboard hit 0 on the clock and we all went crazy. We had a giant team hug and we were all jumping up and down, holding the trophy way up high for all to see. We had just won the tournament, and there was not one thing that could bring us down. It was just such a close game the entire game, and to have finally won it, it felt like nothing i have ever felt before.
So anyway after we shake hands and run across the field to thank the fans, we are in the team circle with our coach giving us his words. And after we are done with that walking to the bus, I ask myself how could this weekend get any better? Then 3 seconds later i see white starting to come out of the sky. I asked myself could it reeally be? And it was, IT WAS THE FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON!!!!!!
So yeah thats it really, that was my weekend of action packed, fun, exciting soccer. I am just so happy that we won this tourament, and that we are a great team this year. I have very high expectations for the rest of the season, and I think we will go far past the regualr season. And the first snow of the season was a great bonus to the weekend. So again sorry for the long story but i am jsut too damn happy I just had to share the story with everyone.
