I think that skate is by far the sickest skating game ever made, but these tricks are just turning it into Tony Hawk. It was the best because it was so realistic

The so called unrealistic trick was the darkslide at the start of the teaser. For those kids out there that think that this is a made up trick or if you just want to see killing them, watch the opening segment to Rodney Mullen Vs Daewon Song Round 2 (you can find it on you tube, to lazy to link),

yes. but thats been in the previous 2 skates as well. obviously the game isnt going to be 100% realistic, if i wanted that id just go outside and skate. but its close. just slightly exaggerated grinding abilities etc.

Yeah, like, I don't skate cause I literally can't where I live when I have the time to do that shit cause I live at the end of a dirt road. But I do know all those tricks in the vid can happen, and I have seen them too. tony Hawk would have them going from a Darkslide to a Boardslide and back WHILE grinding.

just because they put those new tricks in the game doesnt mean that youll be able to do them well right away, its not like pressing buttons in tony hawk you actually have to learn the trick

just watched that gamespot update. It all looked pretty cool until they mentioned that the driving force behind the game is trying to sell as many of your pro model skateboards as you can, and i guess you have to sell certain numbers to progress through the game. I'm not one of those elitist kids who is all "corporations suck! blah blah is selling out blah blah blah" about everything, but im not really a fan of that concept. When i skate money is the last thing on my mind. Of course im far from a pro, but i just dont think that particular aspect of the game is a very accurate representation of the soul of skateboarding. Ill still buy it though.

I dont get why they have to make everything so floaty and add such BS tricks. The reason everyone loved Skate 1 was because it was a realistic-ish skating game... Tony Hawk stuff just got boring... i dont want to play a game when i can do a quad kickflip 720 down a 30 stair set into a noseblunt into a 360 varial heelflip into a manual and then grind a 50 foot rail.

I like to think of this, as the same thing that was the downfall of the Amped series, 1 and 2 were really good fluid games, then 3 came out and it was SSX with a different title. I have never played Skate (no xbox360) but I heard it was praised due to its realism, which this one seems to be lacking

I think its simply the physics in the game that annoys me... they just made the ollies be really slow and floaty, so you're in the air for way longer than you should be, its just one thing they need to change.

My one thing about the .skate series is that their skateparks outside of one or two are really weird in their design. The ones from the first two Tony Hawk games I LOVED and wish that the .skate guys would get some parks like those in it.
